The best version of each man here. Say, the Patterson who avenged himself against Ingo and the Lyle who stopped Shavers.

I've a feeling that lyle may overpower Patterson, Floyd doing great for a couple of rounds, then Ron blasting through and dropping him. I hate picking against Floyd, I love the guy but certain fighters seem to dangerous for him, if you get my meaning?

Yeah, Lyle had the punch to put Patterson away. Question is, could he land it? If I was sure he could, I'd pick Lyle all day.

Floyd Patterson defeats Ron Lyle much the same way he beat Oscar Bonavena.

That is a question of course, but Floyd did hit the deck against even not so lethal fellas. And Lyle had the power to keep dropping Foreman, so idk, is it out of the question that we see Floyd getting kod?
But I will say that Patterson had the heart of a lion and always kept getting back up, sooo who knows, he could turn it around.

Floyd beats him! Ronald “David Tua” Lyle is not good enough!

I could see a trilogy perhaps with Lyle "johannsoning" Patterson on at least one occasion.

This is more like it...rather than Floyd stopping Lyle.

Going against the grain and taking Lyle to stop Floyd

Yeah I don't think he'd stop Lyle, but I do think Patterson hit hard enough to hurt him. Though he may be able to stop an exhausted and weary Lyle like Ali did. I rate Patterson a harder puncher than Ali as far as one punch power is concerned.

Floyd might go down early, which was routinely the case, but he got up more often than not.

I can't see Lyle winning this on points. And I don't see him keeping Floyd down.

So likely it would've been Floyd via decision. Maybe a late stoppage.
