In actuality I think Tua who was in the low 220s has a better shot here. The further Tua ventured north of 230, the more his game suffered in my eyes. But even Tua in prime form loses to Tyson as I see it.
The two guys meeting head on need to get their punches off and the extra weight will just reduce workrate. Tyson has the defence and perception to make a fighter like this more of an open target than he really was. Tua needs to land enough to win and he’s landing more the lighter he is in my eyes. But even then Tyson is still a level above. He’s too good.
Are you going to argue that Wilder's height and reach provide no advantage? Are you going to argue that Marciano's lack of height and reach do provide an advantage? Or is it just a wash based on styles?
We never really saw a peak Tyson face a strong come forward slugger with massive punching power, a great chin and endless stamina. It's not about how Tyson starts the fight, it's about how he will finish it. What happens if he can't shift Tua with his best shots? Tua has the power to put Tyson on ***** street.
