One of my favorite fighter s, how does Joe do at his peak *FOTC*against these top name champ s? Joe Louis *Schmeling 2 * Lennox Lewis *Rahman 2* Rocky Marciano *Charles 2* Larry Holmes *Cooney * Jack Johnson *Burns * Evander Holyfield *Tyson 1* Mike Tyson *Holmes * Wladimir Klitchko *Haye * Jack Dempsey *carpentier * Sonny Liston *Patterson 1 * What you got?
Beats Holyfield and Holmes on points, KOs/TKOs Marciano, Dempsey, Tyson and Louis late Brutally beats Johnson Loses to Liston in 5, losses to Lewis and Wlad on points.
beats louis lewis starches him marciano gives him a tough fight but gets stopped holmes frazier toss up in my opinion frazier beats johnson holy stops frazier tyson stops frazier frazier stops wlad frazier stops dempsey frazier stops liston
Holy cow...I can’t call this lol. To many close ones. Think he beats Wlad Jack Evander Holmes The rest are all close but I’d favor the other guys. 60/40.
Losses to Marciano, Tyson, Liston, and Dempsey by stoppage Losses to Lewis and Louis by close decision (both of these fights are close and I could easily see going to Frazier) Beats Johnson, Holmes, Holyfield and Wladimir
FOTC Joe arguably can beat them all. Liston Holmes Joe Louis have the best chance followed by Dempsey. I'm confident he takes the rest.
Louis - TKO win early for Louis. Frazier started slowly and Louis was a finisher. But if he doesn't ... Lewis - pts or late stoppage a la Tua fight. Lennox had the size and brain to neutralise Joe and would have leant on him inside. Hard night's work for Joe. Marciano - Joe batters him and stops him inside 8. We're talking a top career heavyweight in his prime who, despite being 20lb heavier, is much quicker than Rocky. This wouldn't have been pretty. Holmes - Don't know. It goes the distance and is very close. Prime Larry was on a par with FOTC Ali. Johnson - No idea. Never seen him fight. I don't put much store in contemporary accounts as most of the writers would have had such a limited field of reference before TV, air travel etc Holyfield - Joe outworks that version of Evander for a wide decision. Possible stoppage. Holy struggled with body shots and Joe was among the best at that. Tyson - Tyson early or Joe late. Flip a coin. Wlad - Wlad on points in a terrible fight. Jab, clinch, lean. Jab, clinch, lean... Dempsey - Not seen much of Jack but based on his title reign - which, I know, might not have been him at his best - I'd go Joe. Liston - Joe's bigger and harder than Floyd and would absolutely not have been intimidated. He'd have been Sonny's best win by a long way. Sonny wouldn't have been Joe's best win. Based on that, I'll go Joe on points. Depends on the betting odds.
I like this post and here's how i see these going. Louis - This a close fight Frazer has the heart of a lion and doesn't know when to quit and will find his stride and land eventually. See this being a very close fight. Lennox - I think Lennox jab wins this as it rams consistently on target and backs Joe up. Marciano - Joe wins here as relentless hooks and body shots slow rocky down. Homles - Larry has too much for Joe i feel this ends a brutal KO. Johnson - Have to brush up on Jack against this style and will get back to this one. Holyfield - Goes the distance with a decision for Joe. Tyson - Joe by brutal KO, My thoughts on this reasoning is tyson clearly mentally unstable and has a idgaf attitude to training and life at this stage. 88 Tyson destroys any version of Joe in my eyes. Open to give my thoughts on why to this if needed. Klitchko - Joe by stoppage - Wlad can't handle the constant pressure and tastes the canvas multiple times before Joe finishes for the knockout. Dempsey - Joe wins a decision in a great back and forth fight. Liston - I see a KO for Joe here as the come forward body and headshots leave Liston badly hurt.
Holmes definitely beats him imo, no means easily but he had all the tools to do so. Lewis is another one I see stopping him, perhaps even early as Foreman did? Love to see him against Dempsey or Rock!!
