You said I said Moore was prime at 38 I never said that Archie at any damn age has all sorts of problems with Patterson and gets stopped
Walcott put up one of the best performances of his life and was clearly prime even by his own admission for the first fight Moore was either prime or nearso and on like a 50-1 streak coming into the fight, he would go on to be the LHW champ for the next 7 years, he knocked out multiple ranked contenders weighing 200+lbs to get to his fight with Marciano
Yeah? I admitted he might just be nearso It's unquestionable that he was still quality. I mean he'd go on to beat men like Harold Johnson ffs
You're splitting hairs and we both know it! You also said the underlined ,and it isn't true either! Moore was either prime or nearso and on like a 50-1 streak coming into the fight, he would go on to be the LHW champ for the next 7 years, he knocked out multiple ranked contenders weighing 200+lbs to get to his fight with Marciano
Me too, i favor rocky 6:4 against Frazier. I favor rocky over: Jefferies, Dempsey, Braddock, Schmeling, Ellis, Patterson, earnie Terrel, tony Tubbs, both spinks brothers, weaver, dokes, and herbie hide. That's 15 champions, 8 of whom were lineal. But apparently im an irrational hater and cant be objective with rocky.
I pick Rocky over Frazier because he had power in both hands, but I can see the counter argument, bigger, faster, a bit more elusive. I'd pick Rocky over Braddock,Schmeling,Sharkey,Patterson,Corbett,Johannson, both Spinks,Burns,Willard.Carnera,Baer. Jeffries might be a toss up.Marciano was a great fighter ,and Champion.
Congrats, you found one! Seen this? It was reported that 3 days before this fight that Bob Baker was knocked out in a Miami gym while sparring with Cleveland Williams.
Here's something to ponder. Are chins simply better at 200 pounds? Sometimes guys the 190 pound class take a better puncher than some say someone 210 pounds. Marciano never lost to anyone under or over 200 pounds, however Jack Johnson, Jack Dempsey, and Louis Louis did...by KO.
A wise reply, now we know. Marciano could KO Wilder faster than Fury. I wonder how the vote would change after last night. If Rocky were around toady he'd probably be in the low 200's. With stamina to spare and a 12 round format, it might actually suit him to be at that weight if he was around today. At any rate Rocky hit harder than Fury, and doesn't give the other guy any option but to fight back under pressure, a Wilder weakness as he needs room to land his bomb, and based on how quickly Fury hurt him to the head and body, he's not taking many good shots from Marciano. Some fighters can fight backing up, Wilder isn't one of them.
