This one gets dragged up from time to time but let's see if there;s any new opinions/analysis. How would 1919 Dempsey do against the Tyson who blasted out Spinks in 1?

Great match up but bad match up for dempsey . dempsey style was good against opponents he could he use his speed on so he land first and do more damage on his with his good power. He could do that too guys like (wilder, Wlad) guys that got a bit chinny or flawed technically in some way where dempsey can fire first or at least hurt you in the first round to make it hard for his opponent to recover . tyson comes with more power and just the same speed as dempsey. Tyson in my opinion would stop dempsey in the first round.

Mitch green went the distance with a peak Tyson but Dempsey can't get past the 1st round? Oh yeah I forgot Dempsey's old school. He can't beat anyone after 1950.

Not true this is a stylistic advantage tyson holds. Dempsey can definitely starch. Frazier , Wlad ,wilder , joshua , david haye, marciano ..frank bruno povetkin and others.

Tyson just land his bombs first on dempsey first

This is a stylistic disadvantage for dempsey rather than a size disadvantage why i believe tyson beats him that fast

Dempsey has the heart to outlast Tyson, they're physically equal imo

I disagree but at least you put up a reasonable argument as opposed to "Dempsey's old school. Tyson destroys him lolz"

Before Tyson fought Spinks one would likely have said "Mitch Green went the distance with a peak Tyson but Michael Spinks can't get past the first round???"

Probably the first guy to land first? Both have the ability to hurt the other one. I'm a little split between the two. Tyson had the slightly more power but not by much imo, when it comes to a knock down, drag out fight then it's Dempsey all the way. One thing for sure, it's not going the distance

    Sigh

You've done this one TWICE before, once with the exact same title!

Are you really out of ideas?

I can only imagine the stare down in the center of the ring, Mentally the edge goes to Dempsey as I believe Tyson would be a little unnerved in front of the Manassa mauler. That said I lean toward Tyson but not confidently.
