I agree. Nobody really knows which is the beauty of a fight like this. I think it's literally the first fight but different decision making can turn things on a sixpence.
He’s said everything is in place for the Wilder fight? I thought Wilder had signed a contract for two fights against Fury? You even told us the first one was in Vegas?
I genuinely believe it’s something like that. He had all his clothes on, could have had a big dinner too, loads of fluids, few weights on him maybe. He’s played mind games throughout this build up, they was posting pics of dramatic weight loss for example. The aim has been to mislead Joshua’s team. He doesn’t look even bigger here... They're heavyweights at the end of the day. They don't have to make weight. They can weigh whatever they like. I don't think any of it will matter when the bell rings. It's not like they're featherweights who are gonna lose their mojo by being a few pounds either way. It's a fight at the end of the day
Calm down Hayers. Wilder is allowed to continue his career after he fights Fury. Bob Arum said the rematch is in Vegas.
I think ruiz,s teams outwitted joshuas a bit with the weight. 3 stone difference is a lot of weight. They thought ruiz was coming in a bit lighter for it. Losing the weight joshua has would have probably helped him against the same version of ruiz from the first fight. But losing that much when hes put on that much is tipping the balance a bit imo. We,ll find out. But wouldnt surprise me if ruiz still had the handspeed at 20 stone.
Ruiz has either packed on the fat because of all the success or has trained for power. Either way, Joshua being lighter is a good thing for him.
Anyone think it’s as simple as Ruiz has enjoyed a few more Snickers in his white Rolls? He speaks about the hunger etc still being there but so would everybody. We’ve heard all that before many times. Anybody think he could have just lost motivation having made a lot of money and getting a massive payday this time? I don’t know what I think but just wondering what others do?
Let’s be fair , nobody is gonna admit they haven’t trained or don’t care about what happens. The proof is on the night.
I think joshuas been stupid losing this much weight for this one. He actually needed to bulk up for ruiz if anything. Dont get me wrong in most fights joshua should have been lighter. Just not for ruiz tho. Or miller for example. They might look overweight but their strong guys almost super heavyweight weights. Bearing in mind ruiz is better at breaking a taller man down than joshua is at boxing on the backfoot. Put another way...i,d fancy ruiz having a better chance of getting inside on joshua than joshua keeping him on the outside all night. That means ruiz hitting him with a 3 stone weight advantage. Even trying to tie him up...its a three stone extra weight grappling with you. I,d have packed weight on joshua....and push ruiz back. At some point you have to come prepared to push ruiz back.....otherwise he cuts the ring off and forces you into exchanging with him. Not sure being 3 stone lighter is properly prepared for it.
This is it. We're all speculating and giving opinions but only tomorrow will the truth be revealed. The weight adjustments just make it all the more intriguing.
