A brilliant little double header in Tokyo today, with a Japanese Super Featherweight title fight between Masaru Sueyoshi and Kosuke Saka and a WBO Asia Pacific Super Featherweight title fight between Joy Noynay and Kenichi Ogawa. For those wondering the winners are unlikely to fight, though Noynay Vs Sueyoshi would be an interesting clash and is the only one that seems plausible (Ogawa and Sueyoshi are stablemates, Noynay blasted out Saka earlier this year, Ogawa likely sees himself as being beyond a Japanese title fight if he and Saka both win).

As for the under-card it's mostly locals Vs Thai's unfortunately, but the two main bouts are fantastic

1-This is...exciting, Urakawa trying to walk down Matsuoka, and Ren trying to counter but under pretty intense pressure from Urakawa's foot work, a nice exchange before Matsuoka creates some space, the tempo dropped following that exchange but the mentality of both was clear. Matsuoka, close

2-More of the same, nice shot from Matsuoka but Urakawa takes it well and rocks his man. the pressure continues and down goes Matsuoka...he's trying to beat the count...but counted out whilst getting to his feet. KO2 Urakawa

1-Mioya looking sharp and quick, and looks like this is going to end when he moves through the gears, the Thai still there but looks very poor

2-More of the same really, the Thai is proving to be slippery at times but is looking very poor, especially offensively, Mioya not impressing though

3-Thai chappy deciding to go in head first, eating some solid lefts now and has been warned for use of the head, better round to watch, but neither fighter really showing much to get excited about. Nice left hook from Mioya, messy stuff late on

1-Well that aint last long, Mineta takes him out in about a minute. Thai is getting a JBC ban for lack of skill after that, caught by a left hook and face planted.

2-Thai chappy is pressing, Funayama on the back foot, fighting behind his jab and throwing in good body shots,

3-Funayama having more success now, but the Thai is damn strong and walking through some pretty clean shots, just lacks a bit of snap on his own punches, a good right from Funayama shook the visitor for a second, he's rocked again and Funayama all out on the offensive, he's all over the place but the bell rings

It's not next, but the one after next
