Which other former heavyweight champs could have stopped Berbick in 2 while he was champ?

I don't know, Ive a gut feeling that Marciano would break Berbick down rather than a quick sudden ko. Maybe similar to his fight with Louis,getting the win around the 8 th. Tbh the only ones I see takin out Berbick fast are Foreman, maybe Dempsey and possibly Lewis.
But Lennox could blow hot and cold and his fast kos seemed to come when he faced a possible dangerous opponent like Ruddock or Grant. Could be totally wrong regarding Rocky tho, he had the punching power so who knows?

Great question, and one that reminds me just how awesome Tyson was between 86-89. The usual suspects like Louis and Foreman could well have banged out a guy like Berbick, but I wonder if they'd wipe out a slick, fast-handed boxer like Tubbs in 2. Off to YouTube to reminisce about just what a force of nature Tyson was!

 

Could and would are two different things.

Somebody like Joe Louis might have been able to do it, but he might also have preferred to soften Berbick up for a few rounds first.

Either way the answer is probably not many, especially given Tyson's age at the time.

I almost forgot - i'd give Wilder a damn good chance actually. Berbick would go after him all wide open as such and i don't think he hits hard enough or has the skills to get away with it. I can definitely see Wilder landing right hands in the first two rounds and that would be all, she wrote.

I think Berbick came to fight as well. Berbick was always a rough handful.

Tyson really racked up a truly exceptional result beating Berbick the way he did.

I can criticise the activity, reluctance and unfavourable matchmaking forced on many of Tyson’s title opponents-but not Berbick. It really was a statement win on par with the best results scored in the division.
