    Rafael Herrera vs Venice Borkhorsor

I hate to watch/score fights that have multiple rounds missing, but there is so little out there on Borkhorsor I went ahead anyway.

anyway I have Borkhorsor up 105-104 with a caveat...I scored 7 10-9 rather than 10-8? Reports indicate Borkhorsor was KD’d in the final seconds. The ref gives no count however so I scored it as it did not occur? If it did I would have 104-104...2nd caveat I have seen it scored in round 13 as 9-9 but so no indication of a deduction. If there was and there was a KD I would have Herrera up 104-103. Unfortunately w/4 missing rounds it is hard to say which guy won! This sucks

if anyone ever finds the complete fight or any other Borkhorsor fights out there please let me know!

I am sure @The Morlocks has his entire career on DVD somewhere! Come on man don’t make me wait a whole friggen year!

edit: changed my official card 104-103 for Herrera

I will have to see if I can locate my old card on this fight. Either way you have me adding this to next weeks (hopefully) list!

Philly, according to the write-up on this fight, the knockdown was legit and in the 13th Borkorsor was penalized for use of the head. If this helps any.

    Joshua vs Ruiz:

    Round 1: 10-9 Joshua
    Round 2: 20-18 Joshua
    Round 3 30-27 Joshua
    Round 4: 40-36 Joshua
    Round 5: 50-45 Joshua
    Round 6: 60-54 Joshua
    Round 7: 70-63 Joshua
    Round 8: 79-73 Ruiz
    Round 9: 89-82 Joshua
    Round 10: 99-91 Joshua
    Round 11: 109-100 Joshua
    Round 12: 119-109 Joshua

What a comeback by Joshua. He looks like a new fighter, he moved fluidly, he had good stamina, he took the hits when he needed to. Masterful performance, this fight has legitimized Joshua in my eyes. It is his best performance.

boring fight, but AJ was smart cautious and patient...worked well. I had it 118-110 and scored 9 for Ruiz other than that we got it the same.

It was definitely boring and not even in the discussion for fight of the year (which imo is between Beterbiev vs Gvozdyk and J Rock vs Hurd) but Joshua looks noticably better than he did in the first fight, that I'm not gonna take away from him.

    Yes thank you, that's exactly how I scored both those rounds 10-8 7th & 9-9 13th.

James Scott v Jerry 'The Bull' Martin

I saw this fight back when it happened and I think I had it closer back then. However, what it was was a good and very hard 10 rounder fought in 100 degree F temperatures in Rahway state Prison. Here we go, NJ rules on a rounds basis (with no extra points for a knockdown)

Round 1: Martin (scores a knockdown)
Round 2: Martin (scores a knockdown)
    Round 3: Martin
    Round 4: Martin
    Round 5: Scott
    Round 6: Even
    Round 7: Martin
    Round 8: Martin
    Round 9: Martin
    Round 10: Martin

    Total: 8-1-1 Martin

Actual scores were 7-3 and 6-4 (twice) for Martin. I don't know if they were bending over backwards for Scott within the prison walls, but I feel Martin outhustled, outpunched and outmuscled Scott at every turn. But a good, hard fight.

    Naseem Hamed vs. Kevin Kelley

A fun little fight, with both guys going down multiple times. Both guys hit after the KD’s in round 2 because the ref was slow in halting the fight in both cases.

Hamed taking round 1 when he gets careless and is dropped. I could see scoring this 10-9 Kelley rather than 10-8 because IMO he was winning the round but like must (not sure about the judges?) I scored it 10-8 Kelley.

2 both guys get dropped but again I felt like Hamed took the round 10-9

3 I almost scored this even but felt Kelley edged it barely Kelley 29-27 on my card.

judges have it 28-27 Kelley x’s 2 (which means they probably scored 10-8 Hamed in round 2 to get that score) the 3rd judge has it 28-27 Hamed (which means he likely scored 1 10-9 rather than 10-8 and had Hamed 10-8 in round 2 to get that card?)

round 4 both guys go down and then Hamed drops Kelley again and it is all over!

    Arturo Gatti vs. Wilson Rodriguez

I know it gets overstated but Gatti is a warrior! He may be lacking in the skill department but he is willing to bring it! One eye closed after the first, both eyes closed after 2 he gets dropped and seems to be ready to be stopped either by Rodriguez or the physician. But Gatti storms out in 3 and gets back into the fight. Round 3 could be a ROTY candidate (didn’t check). Good 4th for both guys and Rodriguez nips it for me.Gatti again passes the physicians test on his eye, and in 5 Gatti is docked a point for a low blow and then drops Rodriguez with a body shot. Round 6 Gatti hammering away drops Rodriguez who cannot beat the count! A great fight and comeback!

    1 Rodriguez
    2 Rodriguez 10-8
    3 Gatti
    4 Rodriguez
    5 Gatti 9-8
Gatti by KO 6 while behind 47-45 on my card

Ricky Hatton vs. Jose Luis Castillo

First I must say I detest Joe Cortez! He must think the fans pay to see him as he tries to star in any fight he is involved in! Hatton brings relentless pressure right from the opening bell. What ensued was 3 close hotly contested trench warfare rounds and of course joe Cortez!! I had Hatton up 30-27 going into the 4th. Hatton delivers 3 solid body shots during the first 2 minutes, but it is the next one that forces the proud savvy vet to take a knee and make no effort to rise! Hatton by ferocious 4th round body shot KO!

I love Hatton and the excitement he brought to me in boxing! Equally I loved the energy from his fans who turned his every fight into an epic event! Boxing needs another Ricky Hatton! But unfortunately “there’s only one...”
