Let's see. I'm 1:05 and Fouts already said some dumb ****. "Every time Ruiz moves his hand Joshua Matches him" as Joshua throws a jab and eats a body jab counter. Guy is litterally unwatchable.

But my real beef with him goes deeper.

AJ had 3 rounds to recover, kept jabbing and backing up, soon as ButterBall let his hands go again AJ was crawling around on the canvas again!

Ruiz is fast but if Ruiz knew how to fight tall like one of the greatest of all times Hearns then he would win this fight easily. But he is no Hearns if he cannot knock out Ruiz in 2 or 3. This is up to AJ to prove he is for real. Ruiz? He is ok but not that great. He exploited Joshua's weakness. I think thinking Joshua knocks him out in 3 tomorrow night. If Ruiz wins then he fights Wilder down the road and gets knocked out.

I find your brand of contrarianism acutely annoying for some reason.

Actually AJ is the favorite with the bookies, so you're the contrarian for picking Ruiz ;)

no not a fluke. But AJ has to use that length to stop this young guy early. Ruiz style would be to jump on AJ early and try to make it a brawl. AJ style. jab and jab and avoid Ruiz getting close and working his fast combinations. AJ has to hold. It is tough fight for AJ to avoid that right hand, but he has his own big right and that is the key. The right hand is the key for AJ. Counter it.

You still think Ruiz has a better footwork and 'boxing IQ that's several levels higher than AJ's' ?

Safe to say it was a fluke. Just like most historic HW upsets. History was not on Ruiz's side.

Not a fluke in any way.

As I said in another thread, if Joshua fought tonight as he fought in the first fight, he would have been KO'd again.

He changed his style BECAUSE the KO was not a fluke. As in, he knew that he would lose (and be KO'd) fighting as he did in the first fight.

Ruiz has heavier hands, faster hands and a better chin than Joshua. Joshua understood that and adapted. He recognized the reality of the situation, that the first fight was no fluke.

The thing is, CST was right about a lot of things here.

But Ruiz was disgraceful tonight. Joshua still would've troubled him in this incarnation, but Ruiz theoretically had stylistic attributes that very much trouble Joshua and could KO him.

Yet, he came in fat as ****, and slow as ****. Low workrate. Ruiz can only blame himself. All credit to AJ for doing what he needed to.
