I'm glad Ruiz lost...

Fury and Wilder will not happen ANYTIME soon.....bank on it.....Hearns meal ticket will fight some handpicked cans on UK soil for quite some time now...this aint trolling this is fact.

 

Joshua's hit & run crap isn't exactly lighting up the division either.

 

Would like to see Ruiz vs Ortiz

 

I still think Ruiz is the better technician. With better timing and better hand skills.

The difference tonight was his opponent's game plan. In June he fought a version of Joshua too eager to make a headline on his American debut, and Ruiz took that chance with aplomb. Tonight he fought a version of Joshua that knew exactly what he had to do to win. Ruiz was more out-ranged than he was out-boxed; when Joshua actually lingered within the shorter man's range (mostly during the clinches) it was Ruiz that had the most success. The weight didn't help either. Although I rather suspect that Joshua still beats a 250lb Ruiz, just not as convincingly as tonight, probably 8-4 or something like that.

And Ruiz still has a place in the division. Wilder has been out-boxed NUMEROUS times by smaller opponents, and I think Andy has a chance against him. And he'll give you a great fight if you put him in with pretty much any other contender (Whyte, Povetkin, Ortiz, Hunter, Parker).

 

Not much have been said about Ruiz' chin, but that boy got some whiskers. He took some flush from AJ without blinking. No one has done that before.

 

AJ didn’t take the first fight seriously and Ruiz didn’t take this one seriously.

AJ doesn’t want any part of Wilder or Fury.

 

Me 2, the amount of Kool Aid this forum was drinking over Ruiz was ludicrous..

The guy turned into the GOAT with a no flaws yet he couldn't even beat Parker and had no other really "great" wins..

It was a perfect storm for him to win the first fight (good on him for doing it), but as tonight showed he got lucky in the first fight..

Hopefully the shrilling will die down a bit now..

 

Ruiz is a one dimensional counter puncher. If you stand off him he has no answers. I think he's been found out here stylistically.

 

Ruiz will blow up to 400lb (not far to go) and never fight again, at least not in a championship fight.

 

A bit of a harsh, dare I say, stupid statement.

He has one clear loss on his resume and holds a win over arguably the best HW on the planet.

He's a top five HW....

And there's "nowhere for him to go" now ?

GTFOH !

At 30, he has lots of future if he wants it.

 

Nobody needs Whyte, or Usyk or Hunter.

So what ?

Fights aren't always made because someone needs someone else.

To say that a top five HW..30 years old, who is 1-1 with the probably the best HW in the world, has nowhere to go, at a minimum, a bit silly.
