I feel people are underestimated just how dangerous Ruiz was v AJ last night and that he would have destroyed a lot of Tyson`s world title foes, how would he have done compared to Mike?

    Are you high?

RTuiz trained diddly squat for this match....he moved in full time into a taco stand.....he was absurdly out of shape yet the Bodybuilder ran from that Blob all night.

Mike Tyson stops, again stops ANY version of Ruiz, he would have a field day teeing off on head and body...standing in front of Tyson trading is suicide.

Tucker Biggs Bonecrusher Thomasold Holmes Ruddock would cave his shid in........in no way or form is close to 300 pounds on a six foot frame a "dangerous" fighter, full stop.

Ruiz needs to be in the 250's to be somehow effective plus he is not a hard puncher by all means.

I'd be surprised if the current version of Ruiz even gets past Berbick!

If Ruiz fought in the 80's in as bad of shape he was in last night.... He would've been a club fighter, and completely unheard of other than his local area. So No he wouldn't do well against ANY of Tyson's title defenses.

I agree with the first part of your sentence but I’m less convinced by the second part. I think he might surprise people against Berbick, Bruno, Smith, etc—the guys who were more aggressive. But I could see him following guys like Tubbs, Tucker, Spinks, and Williams around all night. Not sure he’d be able to counter effectively against Thomas’ jab but that could be an interesting fight.

If the 80's taught us one thing is the fat lazy fighters were fat-lazy and boring to watch - fighters that were in condition did well but many plagued by drugs - The guys who stayed away and stayed in condition did well although the split titles and ABC orgs did not allow Holmes to fight the best fighters of his era- Don King ruined the sport and let the lions fight each other - I think the best fighters Holmes fought were M.Spinks and Tyson -who beat him - Shavers had already lost to Quarry-Stander-Lyle-Ali & others like Bob Stallings - Cooney had power but hyped and never fought past 8 rds - the rest of Holmes opponents had 10- 13-14-15-16 pro fights and Holmes never rematched a tough match- Tyson had some good opponents & Ruiz would fit in with the Tony Tubbs- Boneclutcher Smith- Biggs- crowd - Ruiz would not stand out

He'd beat about half of them.

If he got caught up doing cocaine like the other 80s heavyweights though, he might be able to keep his weight down and be more effective.

Ruiz is not the type to string together lots of successful defenses.

Like mentioned above, he is capable of dethroning a champion on a given night. But it is a different skillset required to defend the title. And that set of tools are lacking in his toolchest.
