What do people think about this? Apparently he had an undiagnosed health issue in the lead up to the first Ruiz fight, which he got treatment for. Would explain a lot. He didn't disclose what it was, any doctors in the house? ha. Apparently had to stick his head in a bucket of ice in the dressing room to try and wake himself up. Suggests the concussion/panic attack rumours weren't completely unfounded, they were speculation about what the issue was...
Perhaps - I'm not convinced though. I think most people picked up on something not being quite right with him right from point of his ringwalk.
While something may have been up the fact he changed his weight and way he boxed for the rematch tells me it still wasn't the determining factor.
This reminds me of Thomas De Quincey. Apparently whenever the opium eater had tooth ache he would stick his head in icy water. So we can perhaps infer something similar about AJ.
Nah, not at all man. Most people started looking back at everything once he got bambi legged by Ruiz. Very, very few thought anything looked unusual when he had Ruiz on his ass.
Well obviously I can't speak for everyone but to me it looked like something was up when he was ****ing around with his gumshield whilst Buffer was doing his thing. He looked very odd and almost spaced out.
I believe you but a lot of folk only mentioned it after the loss and at that stage if you look hard enough for something you tend to find it. I thought he looked his normal self during the fight itself, just fought a stupid fight.
As said above it's and excuse and for good PR, hence why it was only admitted after he won the second fight. Pretty standard psychology really. It's all scripted and carefully planned out.
That cannot be stated as fact. Unless anyone is connected to the inner circle of the team, then it's guesswork. We had months of guesswork with the lead up to the rematch but certain facts only emerged close to the day. Until then it was just opinions.
