No way that Ruiz faces Joshua again unless mandated to do so. Not sure how he rebuilds in the short term- maybe an opponent on the level of say Chisora would be an ideal comeback fight. If he doesn’t lose weight and get serious I can see his name spoken in the same light as Buster Douglas.
It always makes sense with Hindsight. I hope Ruiz learns from his mistakes and comes again because the first fight was no fluke, that was not an out of shape Joshua he beat. He just bought into the new money lifestyle and the habits that come with it. Ruiz gave the impression during the first fight that he was playing the fool to catch the wise, unfortunately, his post-fight comments tell the real story.
Hahahahahaha I think you're correct, I might have to revise my thinking when it comes to big Pricey, Whyte was dreadful, the main event was interesting but lacked excitement after several rounds, Povetkin Vs Hunter didn't leave me feeling great.. Price fights at least entertain me somewhat, I have to admit I do enjoy watching him get smacked around. Or, Maybe I'm a Price fan and I'm in complete denial
Lets Go I think it's only fair they increase the PPV prices again if they can make that, it's STACKED.
Not a great watch, but he did what was required. Fought the way he should have in the first fight and I was impressed with his discipline. That ring looked absolutely huge which no doubt helped but onus was on Ruiz to train properly and force the fight - he doesn't seem to have achieved either. I guess we get Pulev next, which is uninspiring but a mandatory, so no problem. Suspect Usyk will end up fighting Whyte or Parker for the vacant WBO assuming he gets past Chisora. Then those two will probably unify whilst Fury\Wilder winner fights probably Kownacki. Then they have to unify, right? Surely? I've not seen nearly enough cynical conspiracy chat, so let me throw this out there: man with career stamina issues manages to run around for 12 rounds whilst taking body shots without getting tired whilst fighting in a country with no known boxing commission.
What are Joshua’s ‘career stamina issues?’ Stopped everyone early enough for there to be no evidence of it in all of his earlier fights. Gets hurt briefly by Whyte. Recovers very quickly. Wins every round before knocking him out. Wins every round against Breazeale before stopping him. Hurt badly by Klitschko. Recovers to stop him after 11. Wins nearly every round against Parker. Wins nearly every round against Takam. Dubious stoppage but would have won by miles on points. Wins nearly every round against Povetkin before stopping him. What am I missing here? I’ve seen ‘he was breathing heavy in his corner.’ And?
If anyone was watching the body language YouTube videos, the guy called it perfectly watching Ruiz as Manny Robles said how well training and sparring had gone
Yeah, a few of us have been following him I think. He's a very engaging guy and great talker. I watched a couple of others about mental awareness and preparation - really interesting.
Seen a lot of his greatest ever performance etc. He was very good, but in reality he beat an obese fella who trained for 4 weeks after a 4 month **** up.
