I don’t see the fight happening. If Wilder 1 punched AJ, like he did Breazeale, we won’t be seeing fans calling for any rematch. I used to think AJ would beat Wilder. Not anymore. Not very often you see a heavyweight who many proclaimed as great, fight scared. AJ’s chin will let him down again at some point. Whether it’s Wilder or someone else.
Wilder has spoke about rejecting the offer since the news broke, he did an interview about it on one of those LDBC channels. Really don't think this was fake news. Unless Wilder is in on it too.
Joshua chin is perfectly fine. Ruiz beats him in the first match, because of the counter shot to the temple, that took Joshua legs and he was concussed, and never really recover for that, and still took Ruiz a lot of time to get rid of Joshua. Joshua can be KO, but by combination of punches i don`t see him getting KO by 1 punch. And Wilder has terrible defence and if he start swinging how he usually does, he will eat big punches by AJ and most probably be KOed. The difference is Joshua is fighting prime/dangerous opponent, while Wilder fights old or out of shape guys, that doesn`t have what it takes for the victory, aka Ortiz. We see the difference with Ruiz in the first match. If Ortiz was against Joshua, he would probably stayed down or get up and eat a KO. Wilder did not fought dangerous opposition and yet he was hurt by guys that didn`t really hit hard enough. In this match everything could happen i agree on that, but Joshua is way more proven and if i have to bet it will be on him. And the big + is that he fought a similar and even better boxer in the face ot Klitschko, tho Klitschko was in very advance age, he have the experience.
I think Anthony Joshua will employ a stick and move strategy against Deontay Wilder, setting traps, and attempting to counter every miss by Wilder. This is pretty much what Tyson Fury did in his bout against Wilder, but trading with Deontay is a very foolish thing to do, too much power in his dukes. Stay off the ropes, move laterally, to line him up for the right hand. Joshua will have to take him into the later rounds, but Anthony would be wise to protect his chin, because once Wilder has an opponent hurt, it is over.
It's clear that, with his new and improved skill set, AJ will tweak his style based on who he's fighting. He'll never go back to what he was like before the Ruiz II fight, but he'll also probably not fight that cautious again - he knew that Ruiz was too tough to brawl with, yet nobody else really possesses that kind of toughness/chin. Against Wilder, AJ only needs to do one thing to assure that he wins however he wants, he needs to nullify that big right hand - obviously! Whilst this isn't an easy task, it can be done - Preferably by closing the gap, but it can also be done by staying out of range completely. AJ is the superior counter puncher and boxer overall, but not even Fury had the head movement to avoid those lighting right hands all night - so if he let's Wilder sit and fire from mid-long range then he's at risk. I'd expect Joshua to close the gap completely and get on the inside to land big bombs, as Wilder aint great up close.. if Joshua can get on the inside then he's pretty much guaranteed a KO victory - and I think he does this early! AJ should come in light and keep the elusiveness, as he still has the power to decapitate Wilder at his current weight... but if he struggles to get on the inside, he needs to be able to move and keep out of Wilders range completely, score points, and hopefully, land a big counter. To Summarise, I don't think AJ has to worry about him much at all! I can think of many ways that AJ beats Wilder, but only one way that Wilder can beat AJ. He's a nightmare for Wilder, this is why Mr 'Ow most definitely' will continue to duck him for as long as possible.. and also why Wilder was praying for Ruiz to win again the other night.
Joshua's best bet will be to employ the same tactics he used on Saturday and I'm sure they will work fine until Wilder nails him.
I don't understand why Wilder's chin is in question when he took flush shots from Ortiz. Ortiz's straight left is lethal and just as hard or harder than anything Joshua can deliver.
Revert back to the old AJ and get Wilder out of there I have been critical of AJ since this weekend, but he has the skills and the punch to get to wilder first He looked good on the back foot against a plodding Ruiz, but that would be a risky strategy i honestly think his best bet is to jump on Wilder early and stop him, or at the very least hurt him bad He can always switch up and go on the back foot when required I do really want to see this fight, but I believe Fury is going to school wilder
Draw the curtains turn the tv down and don't answer the phone.get his mum to do his shopping. That should do it
Wilder’s jaw isn’t that great, he was even stunned by fury a couple of times. AJ could hurt him early if he went for it. It wouldn’t surprise me if AJ demolished him to honest. He is a middle ground, he has some boxing ability but also dangerous power. Wilder just has one punch, one day it won’t be enough, it wasn’t with fury really. joshua is more proven, apart from fury there really is no impressive opponent for wilder when you look at it objectively. I like wilder though, he is an exciting fighter.
