Not because the two fighters don't want to fight they have already sparred before. But because Fury, as we all know, does not get on with Joshua's promoter, I can't see that ever being resolved. This was shown to be a level that in a recent podcast Hearn's, name was mentioned Tyson would not even discuss him and seemed more than on edge at the thought of doing so. Unless Joshua leaves Matchroom( ain't going to happen) or Fury (bt) I doubt the fight will ever happen. It's almost the Brook Khan situation where it seems from the outside that neither wants the other to earn money from each other so hence the fight cant be made. Added to the fact He is on BT Joshua on Sky and that won't change.
You never know. There was a time when Peter fury said he'd never work with Hearn and now his son Hughie is signed to him. I wouldn't take too much notice of what Tyson says.
Once fury gets Wilder out of the picture, he will call out AJ Only roadblock I can see is where the fight takes place and perhaps purse split I expect Fury v Wilder 2 (if it happens) to make more money than the first fight I doubt Fury will take any less than 50% if his fight v Wilder does sell well
I just can't see it added to warren and hearn as well, and the saunders fall out, again making it seems impossible.
Fury and Hearn get along just fine and are in regular contact (matter of fact Tyson apparently calls to banter him in the middle of the night at stupid-o'clock!), so there's no issue on that front. Sure he gives him stick as well, but that's just Tyson's up and down nature. You can only take him so seriously. Judging from interviews, Eddie is probably weary of the fight, seeing it as a bad style match-up. He always seems to emphasise Wilder fight as the first choice. However, there's no way IMO that an AJ-Fury fight doesn't happen eventually. Eddie knows it's too massive not to make (would be among the biggest sporting events in UK history, as he's said). I think Tyson's gonna see out this 5 fight deal with ESPN and then look to make the biggie. The BT Sport factor would prove problematic, but I'd presume that any deal with them expires around the same time as ESPN's. Everyone in the UK, including Tyson himself, knows that Sky is the place to be where it comes to maximising revenue on domestic mega-fights. He'll jump. I'm confident on that. Personally I'm more concerned over the chances of AJ-Wilder ever being made. I think Haymon is simply too dug in determined to not lose any share marketshare to Matchroom and DAZN. Can only hope things might change after PBC's inevitable sale to Zuffa (Dana White).
Warren is in the backseat now. He has little to no say on the direction of Fury's career. There's a funny kind of deal that keeps him involved to some extent but that's in place mainly as a matter of ego-protection. Arum is very much the guy running the show now.
Papa he would be forced to be the b side on sky and I cant see him accepting that, when has AJ never not been the totally a side fighter. He has been very loyal to Warren despite his influence compared to Arum lately as well, staying with him and BT, that relationship works well for him. He could fight wilder win or lose, then ruiz and Kownacki and make a lot of money without going near AJ.
No he wouldn't. That's not how it works. As a promotional matter the coverage would 100% be 50-50. Sky already cover Tyson a fair bit even though he doesn't currently fight on their network. There'd probably be a rematch clause as well so it's not like he'd be immediately disappearing to another channel anyway. The purse split is the only debatable point, but I don't think that'll be too much of an issue so long as Tyson does good business in the mean time. Hearn is very aware of his demands via their regular conversations. Just wait and see what happens when Tyson's ESPN/BT deal expires (two more bouts after Wilder). I don't see this fight as a problem to make in the long term. Even if he remains with Top Rank, Arum has shown previously that he is amenable to working with Matchroom. Now Wilder-AJ on the other hand, that's the real difficult one to make.
Be real Papa they have had years to make this fight Hearn said he tried to sign Tyson when he came back to boxing and did not even get close to doing so. He signed with bt ESPN and BT and is the a-side on the British money side of the coin, why would he give that up to fight on another promotion even after this deal his name is huge , I think he retires or extends that deal come to the end of the five-fight contract. I don't think he ever gets 50/50 of sky and hearn either. Arums and hearn's fighters in Lomacehnko and Haney are miles away from fighting each other now so that relationship seems to be in the storage as well now on any co-promotion stuff.
If Fury beats Wilder this will be the fight Hearn wants to make. It's much bigger than Joshua v Wilder, will take place in the UK and will be the biggest fight in British boxing history. They also need to cash him out soon as he is looking more vulnerable fight by fight. They good a nice easy mandatory against Pulev next but the Usyk fight is looming on the horizon.
