Pulev is done and wants his final payday before he retires which I can’t blame him for. AJ KO.

Pretty pointless fights tbh. Pulevs finished and usyks gonna be too small for the big guys. Joshuas bigger than the belts. Would be better off dropping them and getting fights people actually want at this point.

Looks to me like eddies still plotting a safe path for him. At what point does that change....when furies finished and wilder gets a bit too old. Keep telling us hes the best heavyweight on the planet. Lets go out and actually prove it.

Big Ed is milking the cow dry, before firing him back in with the wolves!

There will be a few sell outs in the uk, with a million casuals tuning in to watch the 'humble' champ, jab and grab his way to a few easy victories

His fan boy's will cry that he is the biggest ticket seller, so that makes him the best lol

Someone like McGregor could cross over to boxing again and out sell AJ 10 times over

    It's not a popularity contest

He should have fought Pulev instead of Miller/Ruiz 1.

May is a long time off.

IBF stripped Fury, they should do the same if Pulev doesn't go ahead, otherwise he is going to be hanging on to that position for years and years.

AJ will bulk up and maul and hug his way to a very dull points verdict.

Dude, they're his mandatories (and I disagree that Usyk is a safe fight...hell, even Pulev is solid). If he chooses not to fight them he'll be stripped of his belts and will lose a large part of his bargaining power along with them. You'd have more of a point if Wilder or Fury were available, but they're not due to fighting each other. In fact they have clearly NEVER been available as an opponent for AJ so I'm not actually sure what you're complaining about.

I hate to do this (inevitably gonna make me sound like a fanboy) but contrary to taking the "safe path" Joshua has far and away the best record in the division, and that after only 24 fights - Ruiz, Parker, Whyte, Povetkin, Klitschko, Takam, Martin, Brezeale - all have spent time in the top 10 at one stage or another, with the first five mentioned spending time in the top 5. Even Ortiz was offered the AJ fight for career high money but turned it down. Check Wilder and Fury's records by way of comparison.

The one thing lacking is the unification fight, but it's beyond clear that Matchroom are not the ones at fault for it not happening (still can't get my hear around Wilder rejecting that massive DAZN deal).

Mandatories are mandatories. If its Pulev then fine, lets do this and get rid of him.

    Garbage post.

AJ has a far superior resume to the 2 jokes who claim they are the best. When AJ lost he took the rematch straight away. What did the 2 jokes who claim they are the best do after they fought each other? One fought 2 old has old beens and the other fought 2 euro bums.

Of course it would be Pulev! Usyk is all wrong for Joshua. This is the perfect 'stay busy' fight while Wilder and Fury do their thing. If Fury beats Wilder I have no doubt they will be moving to make the Fury fight Which is the biggest fight in British boxing history. Joshua needs very careful management now as his fragility is there for all to see but he can look good against Pulev and people will be saying he is back to his best.

Makes complete sense TBH. Fury/Wilder are tied up, going in against Usyk will likely be a loss, this way he gets rid of another mandatory with minimal risk and waits for Wilder/Fury's winner.

It was offered I believe. As I recall, Pulev wasn't available due to it coming too soon after his fight with Bogdan (plus that whole kissing situation with the reporter was ongoing at the time)

That old has been Ortiz would school Ruiz

i wouldn't be surprised if he beat the hell out of AJ either

Not many wanted to fight Ortiz, the guy has some legit skills
