They really should drop it, if this turns into some kind of waiting game to find out what it was, I couldn’t care less. isn’t it enough that the fans made about 50 excuses for him anyway? If it’s to save his brand, what makes him so special? a loss is a loss, greater fighters have had to accept this, even the greatest, Muhammad Ali had to. Trying to erase it won’t work.

BS. He simply got dazzled by the American lights and pressure. He is fortunate that his boss is bloody smart as f. Eddie knew the drill. Keep the kid as far away from America as possible. Which they will do now.

Right on cue, here comes the usual armchair doctors and they’re internet deep research in to PED use. Because no way could someone be in good shape without using steroids.

I agree with 90% percent of this, it wasn't so much him getting battered in the inside exchanges as he actually just doesn't have the resilience for it. That said i cant see anyone waiting for wilder to get old, Wilder is a poor boxer with a suspect chin but amazing power in that right hand (the likes of which i dont think have existed in boxing) his power wont leave him for a Long, LONG time. I honestly see it being a matter of time before what happened to AJ in first Ruiz fight happens to Wilder.

Documentary from match room incoming, “Why I Lost”. Usual talking heads “after his operation to move the mole there was no way AJ could perform, the fight should have been cancelled”, Nelson “this is why I was so confident AJ would win the rematch, he was a completely different fighter” blah blah blah.

Where’s that banned poster gone, they are better at this stuff :ciappa:

Joshua has never made any excuses. He's always maintained the better man won on the night.

Unlike ruiz who made more excuses in 5 minutes after the fight than AJ has made in 6 months.

The media has been badgering him ever since, what was wrong, something wasn't right etc. He's always said no excuses i lost.

The only thing he seems to have admitted is he felt drained and tired for a period of time before and up to the fight.

Sounds to me like fatigue, can be caused by stress or overtraining. There's loads of reasons why you can feel unusually tired all the time. I know I've had periods in my life where I have felt like this.

It can lead to chronic fatigue but this doesnt sound like what AJ had.

So for me it's not an excuse but seems totally plausable and explains why he was so out of sorts that night. He didn't look right at all.

But why does it matter who gives a feck. He lost then he won.

AJ isnt looking for any excuse.

Lets not forget that after MSG it was people outside AJ's camp that were coming up with all the excuse stories. Sparring, panic attack etc etc.

It seemed like plenty were trying to find an excuse for AJ when he never gave them a reason too.

Well he is going back on it now, he is openly saying there was something wrong. They are trying to erase the loss. It’s blatant.

At the moment it’s not a big deal but if they keep going on about they will end up looking very Petty. It’s disappointing after avenging a loss like that. And as said in the thread already, if it was purely health related why prepare as he did and change his usual style? He undermines his reinvention by saying the first fight was something he didn’t need to adjust for.

Not read the whole thread but when Costello/Bunce asked about it on there podcast he just refused to tell them what it was at all. Sounds like an excuse tbh. Irrelevant now of course after the weekend

He clearly doesn't want to say.

But he's been pestered to death over it for 6 months.

Obviously there was an issue in the first fight and he's had enough., OK fine I didn't feel right.

    So what

I'm not sure it's an excuse either way, he didn't feel right lost the fight. Sorted himself out and won a rematch..

    Whats the big deal
