Oh yes he is. Ruiz too went 72-1 over 13 yrs. Ruiz held the title 7 yrs defending it 12 times being in shape the entirety of his prime and then stepped up and kicked another greats ass easily. They are basically the same. I am trying to be more sensitive since @mcvey and @PhillyPhan69 say I am harsh, a bad person and callously mean.
lol! I never said I didn’t like it or you! Can you be a douche? Yes! But I think that is cool and frankly one of your most endearing qualities. I have also placed you recently in my personal top 5 P4P ATG posters...let it go man!
True if Ruiz was in lean shape he would be much lighter, but to be fair to Duran he had a somewhat smaller body than Ruiz. Duran was lightweight champion. I wonder how the Barkley version of Duran would have done against a very slimmed down Ruiz?
Can all these Ruiz threads either stop, or **** off back to general. He's had his 15, he was good. But stop comparing him to actual legends. He doesn't deserve, and frankly neither do they. Duran? Ruiz? What???? I think I speak for everyone when I say we'd much rather discuss other guys than Ruiz consistently.
With all due respect you are entitled to your opinions, and I probably agree with many of them, but you don't speak for everyone. If you did there wouldn't be these kind of threads.
If Ruiz did a bit of water cutting as well, he could probably fight Big Wang for the Straw-weight title.
I know they are not the same. However there were some similarities: the partying the excuses a small overweight guy holding his own against the bigger and stronger opponents Ruiz was surprisingly quick in their first fight, much like Duran in the first Leonard fight.
