Well in that case i say John L Sullivan is still the real champion, as the sport is not real what with all this padded glove nonsense, bare knuckle duking it out is the way.

 

I'm not even a Joshua fan but he did what he had to do. He had an opponent that he couldn't bomb out, overpower, or trade with so he had to fall back and play keep away. He did what it took to take minimum damage and rack up points. He ultimately dominated the man that knocked him out.................to the point that no one even wants to see a rubber match. Sometimes, the point is simply getting the win and putting that chapter of your life to bed. So you can move on to bigger potential fights.

Ruiz won the first fight because AJ fought a dumb fight the first time. It’s boxing, not tough man competition at the local bar. AJ fought a smart fight. I prefer KOs but give the guy credit. He took back his belt.

AJ didn't want to get T.K.O. in the rematch that' why he ran away all night. If he were K.O.'d by Ruiz in the rematch then you know what would happen to him. His confidence would be gone and he would become a grade B fighter.

When you look at it objectively a lot of heavyweight greats have fought in exactly the same way. You could say Joshua didn’t even the score with a KO but it was a pressure fight, for his career and legacy. He couldn’t make a mistake so he did what was required. I found it impressive how he came in sticking and moving like that, and I was rooting for Ruiz. If they fought a third fight you would expect AJ to beat Ruiz up more and maybe stop him late, but there is always the possibility Ruiz is a hard man to KO. Anyway these posts are a bit silly, not objective and fuelled by hate for the fighter.
