We're yet to see a boxing masterclass from Wilder in his career, do ya'll think he can provide one like AJ did against Ruiz before he retires?

Yes, when paired with someone who blocks punches with his face like Stiverne.
not against Ruiz when under 300lbs, that's for sure.

No, it's not his style and it never will be. He doesn't have the fundamentals to pull off something like AJ did.

Wilder's style is to just brutally KO people as soon as the opportunity presents itself, he only needs a split second to end a fight - this is not something that many can do!

Let's be real, it was hardly a boxing masterclass by Anthony Joshua. Andy Ruiz is obviously already small (much shorter than his billed 6'2''), has a tiny reach and was much fatter than the first fight.

We haven't? Were you following boxing in 2015?

Wilder boxed Bermane Stiverne's ears off to win the WBC title by a wide unanimous decision. And he did that while boxing most of the fight with a broken right hand that he suffered in the fifth, I believe, when he rocked Stiverne after first dropping Bermane in round 2 (which wasn't ruled a knockdown because Stiverne tackled Wilder as he was going down.)

And Wilder didn't run for his life the whole time. He jabbed. Circled. Stayed in punching range. And Stiverne was throwing bombs.

Wilder didn't score a lot of knockouts as an amateur. He's like Tommy Hearns that way. Hearns and Wilder were boxers as amateurs. Punchers as pros.

Wilder can do both. When he boxes, though, he doesn't run.

Wilder is not a great boxer and will never turn in a masterclass performance. but neither can anyone else in the HW division. And Joshua most assuredly did not box a masterclass performance against Ruiz.

He can provide a masterglass at some point. The day his chin gets shattered.

Is this thread implying what Joshua did a masterclass? lol

If Hughie Fury was “Shades of Ali”, then AJ was “Shades of Hughie Fury” :risas3:

Against someone who is a come forward plodder like Stiverne yes he can and did..

Really his mind set is so focused on getting that big KO he has lost all ability to box...

For the record I think he is a decent boxer. He takes flack because he puts himself out there when he goes for the kill. One right is pretty str8 but everything after is usually a human impersonation of a windmill.
I can never post Briggs impersonating Wilder video enough ...and when Wilder saw it, he responded that it was some funny s#@!

He already put a 12 round clinic in the champ at the time bermane stiverne. This was masterclass boxing
