Ezzard Charles vs prime Eddie Muhammad

Ezzard Charles, clearly. Unless Eddie's on top form it's quite easy as well

 

Charles by decision. Eddie would have some beautiful moments but Charles would outwork him and possibly stifle him somewhat.

I would favor Gene Tunney over him. The Gene who learned soon much fighting Greb.

 

Which comes down to I would favor Greb over him on the initial bout. I would be interested in @George Crowcroft & @roughdiamond opinion on this Tunney/Greb/Ezzard triumvirate.

I agree, especially over 12. Over 15 I think Charles nicks it, he managed to keep Marciano off him early on so I think he can handle the style, but Greb's workrate wins rounds.

I think Charles counters Tunney's jab too often to lose in a single fight. Charles would have to go on offence, which he was more than capable of. I think he'd have to block to the body and use angles to work off the ropes. Charles lands straight rights over the top frequently going into the mid rounds and counters to the body, whilst blocking Tunney's power shots and landing jabs of his own.

I really like a motivated Eddie at 175,, but a prime Charles is a bridge tooo far! Eddie's good jab and right cross keeps him in it ,but Charles takes a UD as Muhammed fades in the later rounds.. 10-5 ,or 9-6

 

I like Tunney I think he is the greatest ltheavy ever, with Ezzard #2, and one of the 9 gre a test heavyweight champs ever.

 

I also would take Tunney over Charles @ 175
