He has suffered two knock downs, one of which I saw on YouTube which was pretty much a slip but he got up in a flash and carried on fighting He was getting tagged against arreola but stayed on his feet. He got hit with big shots against Stiverne without getting buzzed. He has taken Ortiz best punches in both fights, in the first fight he weathered the storm and still had his Witt about him in round 7 and 8, in the second fight he took Ortiz feared left hook without being fazed. Fury who weighed 257 lbs and outweighed Wilder by a good 50 lbs in their bouts hit him with multiple one twos and even countered him was unable to hurt him. David Haye who spared with Wilder has already confirmed that Wilder has a very under rated chin. Brazzeale who is noted for having a crisp right hand, hit Wilder in the back of the head without seriously hurting him This is not the sign of a fighter with a glass jaw. In contrast AJ has been dropped 5 times and has been badly buzzed in fights where he has had to take numerous rounds off to recover. I am willing to bet that in an AJ Wilder fight, Wilder takes AJ's best work but the first time Wilder lands on AJ's face, its game over. There is a reason why Team Hearns and AJ are doing everything they can to prevent this fight from happening. Wilder should just call AJ's bluff and even accept a 90-10 offer, Wilder has everything to gain from winning that fight
What a load of crap. The only reason Wilder's fragile whiskers haven't been shattered since stiffs Dustin Nichols and Harold Sconiers had him on the canvas is because of (very) careful matchmaking. There is as REASON why he has been matched SO carefully, which is precisely because he's packing glass.
Lol, while AJ's whiskers have been shattered inspite of careful match making. As we can see AJ is already backtracking on his promise and not giving Ruiz the third fight
No such thing as getting someone ready to go if you don't do it. Ortiz had Wilder apparently ready to go but he couldn't do it so its a moot point.
Yup, definitely underrated. It's not an iron chin but not as bad as people make it out to be. Out of him, AJ and Fury, he probably has the best chin.
Wilder has a decent chin. Looks to be better than AJs. Wilder power looks to be better than AJs as well. I'd still favor Aj in the matchup. But let's not pretend that people haven't been calling Aj, and Fury for that matter too, glass chinned for just as long as they have Wilder.
Don't agree on Fury either. Yes he's been dropped but he has recovered in record time. Larry Holmes has been dropped multiple times but was known to recover and regain control of fights in a heart beat, you cannot say he had a bad chin.
Fury has, IMO,...already proven that his chin is made of sterner stuff than the two pretenders currently holding belts.
Here's a guy 50 lbs lighter than Wilder knocking him down half a dozen times. If Wilder had a good chin this wouldn't have happened: This content is protected
If Wilder had faced the following opponents: Whyte, Parker, Wlad Klitschko, Povetkin and Andy Ruiz Then I am sure he would have lost by now. So the OP comparing the two isnt a fair comparison. Because Wilder has cherry picked and avoided the best with the exception of Ortiz and Fury. The OP also forgets that Tyson Fury had Wilder out on his feet in the 12th and nearly ready to be stopped.
