M'Billi starting to get a little wild for my liking, now.

 

Point from Leatherwood, for holding I think. 50-44 M'Billi

edit: a slow motion highlights replay between rounds shows it may have been Leatherwood pointing his left elbow outward and driving forth behind it like a jousting lance into M'Billi's chest.

 

Weird. The ref docks another point from Leatherwood before the fighters even meet to answer the bell for the 6th. Leatherwood appears confused, but not defiantly so, just sincerely puzzled as to what he did, and the ref begins explaining in a hodgepodge of French and broken English that Leatherwood didn't follow his instructions.. sort of equivalent to a "false start" or "off sides" penalty, I gather? Leatherwood started leaving his corner before the ref said to?

Really chintzy deduction tbh.

 

So, a second consecutive 10-8, sans knockdowns.

60-52 M'Billi

 

This was elevated to a 10-rounder, apparently.

 

70-61 M'Billi

Actually pretty boring.

 

M'Billi poured it on in round eight, and the ref jumped in to save Leatherwood. Good stoppage, despite him never going down.

Bird's eye view slow motion replay shows M'Billi clocked him with a looping right, then a left hook, and one more looping right all of which jacked Leatherwood's jaw violently in opposite directions, and he did nothing to answer for any of them, was barely even defending himself anymore. Perfect stop.

TKO8!

 

Probably my least favorite M'Billi performance that I've seen. Credit to Leatherwood for being stubborn, durable, and tricky.

I still believe Solide can achieve big things, but the commentators were tossing around the name "Billy Joe Saunders". No way. Not yet.

 

I don't speak French, but could tell by his mannerisms and tone M'Billi was somewhat critical and self-deprecating about his showing. He did finish off with the words "championnat du monde", but it sounds like more of a long-term goal for someone who realizes there's a ton of work still ahead of him before reaching that point.

 

Mathieu Bauderlique vs. Hugo Kasperski, 12 rounds @ light heavyweight

 

This is for the WBA Intercontinental 175lb title, Bauderlique's second defense.

 

Bauderlique is accompanied out by some rapper yelling into a mic.

 

Mademoiselle holding the flag of France...

I'd love some of that lady's marmalade.

 

Each guy does have a KO1 defeat (in the one and only stoppage loss either of them has) but I have a feeling these feather-fists are going to whack each other for the full twelve, unless somebody gets badly cut.
