    That's an old interview.

Like I said, I first heard about it on one of Hatman's vids and many if not all of the sparring rumours he's mentioned have subsequently turned out to be true and the fact that Little also claims Hrgovic bashed him up gives it a little more credence albeit he seems to be implying that Hrgovic made him quit.

FTR, I like and rate Dubois and I'm not saying it is definitely true.

I know how sparring works. "Winning the rounds" were Gormans exact words.

I just never heard about Hergy sparking Doubis and you presented it as a question so i thought id ask.

I mean good chance it means nothing, but if/when that happens, its usually a good indication the one fighter is much further along developmentally than the other or the guy has some fatal flaws that really need to get corrected before they jump up in class. If it really happened I just take it to mean that Hrgovic is further along in his development at the time.

Dubois still hasn't fully developed, he is only 22.

One other thing to note is Hrgovic was a seasoned amateur and Doubis was just 20 years old with very little amateur experience.

Either Daniel Dubois or Filip Hrgovic.

They are clearly the two best.

From what I gather it's been very, very much exaggerated. Think about it, if he was dropping Dubois repeatedly and heavily why would they let that continue? It'd make no sense to let someone so young take that kind of hiding in sparring.

An elite amateur who is 5 years older putting a young fighter still learning his trade in a bit of trouble isn't that surprising. David 'Nice Guy' Price was known for smacking about the younger guys in sparring and where did that get him? Battered when it mattered.

FWIW I like Hrgovic to do well, I think he looks a handful as a pro. I just think Dubois is a talent too.

It probably has been exaggerated and my gut-feeling is he might have hurt him and made him quit rather than KO'd him.

I think Dubois looks really good, especially for his age, and he's only going to get better. His power is definitely legit but I'm not sold on his chin yet, partially because, as with all prospects on the way up, we need to see him in with some world class opponents who can crack first, and partially because of the sparring rumours I've heard about. I've also heard that Bakole bashed him up, or at least it was suggested he did so (by Bakole's trainer) and that he was floored by Wlad Sirenko. Again, I'm not saying they're true but it does make me a little suspicious.

I've seen Hrgovic take huge shots both in the ams/WBS, and even the other day against Molina who can crack a bit and I've never seen him hurt and he claims he's never been down. So I have more confidence in his chin. But ability wise they're both impressive and have their strengths and weaknesses and they're both only novices when it comes to the pros so obviously there's room for improvement. Hrgovic has a lot of detractors too albeit most of the criticisms I see levelled at Dubois are about his personality or rather lack thereof one and I find it annoying because he seems like a nice lad whose only crime is being shy. The criticisms regarding Hrgovic's lack of speed are over the top too.

FWIW I can confirm he is a nice guy and don't think his lack of nonsensical bravado should be held against him.

Not at all. I liked the way he immediately went to console Gorman after stopping him. I got the impression he genuinely felt a bit bad for him and understood that losing in that manner on a stage of that magnitude would've been an embarrassing experience for him and I thought that was a nice touch given all the pre-fight 'bad blood' between them even though it was rather tame. Gorman comes across as a nice guy too so there was no need to rub it in and Dubois didn't feel the need to do so either.

Worrying about me breaking the rules = overrated.

    Hrgović = not overrated.

Ajagba = slightly overrated, clearly inferior to Hrgović. (and Dubois for that matter)

You = enlightened, now, by me.

    yer welcome. ;)

Dubois has been knocked down on sparring by Hrgovic, Sirenko, and Bakole. His chin has to be a big concern. No way should he be topping this poll above the granite chinned Hrgovic.

You can hear about what happened when he sparred Sirenko here at 18.30

Well Sirenko was just 23. And was just when he heavily floored a 21 year old Dubois so what's your petty excuse there!
