It's not a deflection. It's just sadly emblematic of someone who thinks Marciano was more skilled and faster (at any point in the fight) than Ruiz.
Explain what skills Ruiz possesses that Marciano doesn’t? Or am I missing something? You made a statement that’s patently false. Either admit you’re wrong or start throwing something out there. Educate me oh wise one
Here's the thing. In the time it took you to type this Suzie Q would have introduced herself to Andy. Twice! She made men's knees weak. Youknowwhatimsayin?
Ruiz is a fat useless disgrace to the sport! He practically dumped the title when he came in at 20 stone. Fair enough he took his chance and beat a chinny Joshua (after nearly getting stopped himself) but lost every round in the rematch. Joshua is no all time great by anyone’s standards. How can anyone pick him over any ATG who was always in shape and carried the title with pride? Rocky would tear him a new one!
“Fundamentals” as in was he a sharper puncher as far as form goes? With his jab and straight right sure. Not much of else. He can’t move up or down at all because he’s morbidly obese. His defense is almost non existent and his footwork is horrendous. I’m not sure what fundamentals you’re referring to but Ruiz lacks a lot of them. He obviously hasn’t learned to cut off the ring or properly neutralize a good jab. Marciano did that very well. Jabs would roll over his shoulder and back and he would counter the body and occasionally come over with an over hand right. His fighting style was unique and really made for him. So he was a little unorthodox. What does Ruiz do so well fundamentally I keep seeing people say it but no one can explain it? He has fast hands in very short bursts throwing mainly the same combos. He has an amazing chin. But he lacks so much. So do many of these fighters with the exception of Fury whom is the only great fighter of the bunch imo.
Can we start with knowing how to move his feet without crossing them? Perhaps how to balance his body when throwing combos so that he lands square and ready to jab upon completion. How to manipulate the center line and not become a victim of it. How about not being a fighter totally bereft of athletic ability.
A Marcianista calling anyone's footwork bad is the height of hypocrisy. Ruiz started boxing in his diapers. Marciano never started.
Rocky was awkward looking but fundamentally an extremely effective counter pressure boxer by his championship days. Simply put He created openings and hit the target. That is the definition of a good boxer. Defensively, he also rolled and weaved effectively in the pocket to avoid blows. His balance was good in that momentum was rarely wasted. If you watch his fight with Archie Moore Rocky is rolling and shielding within fierce exchanges with the best of them. It is a higher standard than anything we have seen from Ruiz. He did not “always move his feet without crossing them” but he was unconventionally footed. Goldman made this work for him. If the definition of good footwork is that a fighter effectively distributes weight from either foot as he cuts down the ring then Marciano was superb. he was always ready to pull the trigger where ever he was. Which is good foot positioning which ever way you look at it.
And what amazing athletic ability does a fat pig like Ruiz possess? Apart from pretty quick hands at spasmodic points per round I don't think Ruiz athletic ability is any better at all than Marciano's. His conditioning alone is a disgrace, in fact I'd guess his BMI is higher that his IQ. At least Marciano had discipline and respected his opponent, the sport and himself enough to step into the ring in top shape each time. Ruiz deserves all the scorn he's receiving for last weeks performance.
Lmfao did you just call Marciano unathletic while referring to Ruiz as athletic? I can’t anymore this is a sickness. The HW credited with the best stamina ever is being referred to as unathletic compared to an obese fighter that throws 20 punches a round and constantly needs breaks. A fighter that can’t bend his knees more then an inch or two lmao. Cmon man. You also didn’t argue Ruiz’s defense or skills to hard. Must have nothing. Marciano knew how to close the gap and maybe he should have watched some Marciano Frazier Tyson fights for tips. Just admit you think Ruiz wins because he weighs more. Forgot to add Ruiz footwork is bad because he’s fast of hand but slow of foot. He try’s to fight like Duran but is wayyyy to slow and doesn’t know how to cut off the ring like he did. his Feet were to slow to keep up with AJ
