Most of them can’t read and they only pay cash for everything so it rules using ticket sites out. Also they’d probably rather watch 2 fat old ‘kings’ with big hairy backs ‘fight’ in a car park.

hmm possibly, I think If they made

Callum Smith vs Billy Joe Saunders
Scott Fitzgerald vs Anthony Fowler 2
    Kell Brook vs Liam Smith

    it could do about 30,000

I’m going 6, that’s assuming the smith brothers get free tickets.

Tony Bellew at Goodison only did c.25,000 and that was with 3 of the Smith brothers ( Callum, Paul and Steven ), David Price and Masher Dodd on the card. Think Smith v Saunders would do similar numbers.

Only Canelo would help Smith fill Anfield.

Smith v BJS would sell out Manchester Arena - no doubt about that.

There were only around 63,000 Irish travellers in the UK as per the last census. Even if that figure is incorrect the real number won’t be that much higher.

The low ticket sales could partly be due to the public perception of travellers. A lot of people really wouldn’t want to spend an evening in the company of lots of them if they were supporting the other guy.

It would need to have a loaded card. Personally I would pay more to watch a live stream of Smith literally handing the belts over to the rightful owner, John Ryder.

Don't think it's a huge seller. But always depends on the rest of the card with these things

Liam Smith is probably a much bigger name in the states than he is over here.... going off the back of Canelo and Mungia

Kell Brook thinks he is the PPV - He won't fight without being the PPV 'star' so he can retire.

Needs to rematch Ryder before they can expect people to get behind any future title defences. He lost that fight, at the very best he drew. Even if you had him winning I think you’d struggle to begrudge a rematch.

That was before Bellew became a big name. Smith v Saunders are both proven world class world champions. Much easier sell.

Saunders is a proven world champion but he’s clearly not an easy sell.
