Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by fitzroy boy_iron mike, Dec 11, 2019.

How many of the Fab 4 would Prime Pacman have beaten?

  1. One (specify who)

  2. Two (specify who)

  3. Three (specify who)

  4. All- Prime Pac would have beaten all of them

  5. None- Prime Pac would lose to all of them

Says who? Compubox? Floyd had no shame and ran all night. Didn't come to fight. It's a fact. "Slick" boxing is a euphemism for cowardly running. Thought people knew this?

There is a ceiling for logic when it comes to subjective, speculative opinions that are wildly different in outcome. We are talking about a fantasy fight that divides opinion clearly. For what it's worth just look at the poll results

    Oscar was shot though.

His body didn't respond to the weight loss.

He only rehydrated by 2 pounds.

He looked completely depleted at the weigh-in.

Manny was a great fighter. But he didn't fight the version of Oscar that Floyd did.

Some people can show bias and be nostalgic. But just use your own logic.

    Manny was a great fighter.

It's undeniable. But that doesn't mean he'd have beaten Tommy Hearns and Marvin Hagler etc.

The highest he ever went was a C-W against Marg.

If you want to rank him higher than a guy like Tommy, I have no real argument. But H2H is completely different.

Manny couldn't hang with a guy like that.

Pac was one of pbfs easiest fights in years he didnt even have to get out of 1st gear to school pac, it was easy work. Maidana gave pbf a harder fight than pac did let that sink in.

Fair post but we will have to agree to disagree.

Okay. But I'm not sure what you can disagree with. Floyd had bad hands, but I'm sure he was capable of prolonging his career had he have wished to.

If Pac also didn't come to fight, there would have been no fight. No schooling just spoiling.

Did they fight in their 40's or did they retire earlier?

Just saying Void didn't come to fight get it right. He came to run and hug. He hugged and ran like a coward.

Marvin retired in his early 30's.

    Ray was 40 against Macho.

Tommy fought into his mid 40's.

Duran fought into his late 40's.

    What was your point?

My original point, was that the T/S said he was looking for a debate based on how they would all have matched up prime for prime, yet he then noted how Ray struggled and lost to both Norris and Camacho. But if you're looking prime for prime, then those losses are irrelevant to the discussion. Because whilst I understand that they were both fast fighters like Manny was, Ray was way past his best at those stages. So I don't think those fights tell us anything.
