There's seldom to never any middle ground. It's mind boggling.

Would you say Marciano wasn't a great fighter Pat?

Pat's amateurs could teach Rocky a thing or three. After all they have Pat's Yoda like insight guiding them.

I can't wait till one of his guys goes undefeated and is undisputed heavyweight champion. It should be easy seeing how weakened the heavies have become with no world wars to toughen them up and the advent of online gaming.

Even if this is true, he still only has one victory of any note!

Why not do a post of Jaws vs Finding Nemo.

because Jaws has the old school edge and the bigger guy as well! It does not correlate, you must be one or the other...jaws gets the old school vote and the modern bigger is better crowds vote...this is one sided....but perhaps Nemo has some newer training methods and a better diet as well...that would just really confuse things...not sure we want to go down this road.

That's part of the problem rating an active fighter... and even more problematic when he might pan out to be a one hit wonder a la Douglas. You have to base your estimation on that one fight.

I have only pointed out that there is a stylistic problem here for the Rock that I don't like. Other than that, that One Night version of Ruiz must be extrapolated to something more consistent, which I agree is not entirely intellectually honest.

I am a lot more skeptical of fighters with one good win, than I am of fighters with two good wins.

You seem totally unable to compute that Ruiz, in addition to beating Joshua, went on the road with a limited camp and ended up losing by one round to an undefeated, 245 pound champion who happens to be extremely durable.

Do 35% of people who have voted really think that Ruiz would knock out Marciano even with his 100lb weight advantage??
