Virgil Hunter is also based in California and could be a good defensive style that would please John, Abel Sanchez is also in California but he didn't seem to get on up in the big bear training camp. Fury could even get on the Ingle juice he has the unorthodox style for an Ingle fighter.
Davidson was more of a cheerleader anyway. He’s young and can gain experience, but seeing him almost crying his eyes out during the 12th round of the Wider fight after the knock down wasn’t a good look for me. I know Roach was a bit of a cnut with the comments he came out with after the fight, but I think Ricky Hatton probably quietly agreed with Freddie.
this suggests to me they are cashing the big man out, going into the wilder rematch in feb-March with no trainer. Makes the trilogy easier to sell when fury gets banjoed by a big ancestral right hand “he had no trainer”
Fury knows he’s gonna get knocked cold by Wilder. Once that happens, he can claim he wasn’t right mentally in the lead up to the fight, and will point to his split with Davidson as an example of that. Smart man.
which of my theories does Tyson hiring Peter as his trainer for his next fight in the US, when Peter isn’t allowed into the US, make as much sense as? take your time now...
Ben deserves all the credit in my he world for what he has done with Tyson but the fact is he is not teaching fury anything he doesn't already know, going into the biggest fight of his career I think it's a good move , a new face fresh ideas and someone who can come up with a great game plan for wilder, I think this is great for the mind games on wilder especially if he were to go back to Peter but not sure what their relationship is like now and obviously there is the visa issue. Who can it be? Who could he employ to get the very best out of him in such a short time? Mayweather sr ? Him and wilder seem to dislike each other might be a good move!
Tyson is now training with Sugar Hill. Tyson wanted to bring someone in with more experience and Ben Davison wasn't happy. It's concluded in them parting ways.
Fury obviously wasn't satisfied with his performance against Wallin and feels he needs more for Wilder showdown.
I mentioned that Tyson could pay Big John rather than Ben, but that doesn't work either since John also wont be allowed in the US? Pointless training him if he cannot be in the corner.
