I read an article in my paper today stating how Fury has fired his trainer but the article finished by stating Fury has distanced himself from a possible showdown with AJ next year, why won`t Fury fight AJ?

He's realised AJ can box a bit and if they fight his normal clowning in the ring isn't going to hide his lack of fundimentals.

Tyson Fury has a contract with ESPN whereby he has to fight 3 more times in the United States, which is what he was referring to. In the Michelle Joy Phelps interview from a day or so ago, he stated that it would be Deontay Wilder twice, then another opponent.

Joshua will not be fighting the winner of Wilder/Fury very soon no matter what.

    Timeline:
Fury/Wilder is in February. The winner will have to take on the WBC mandatory or be stripped, no more voluntary defenses

Joshua has two "2" mandatory defenses: the WBO and IBF, or he will be stripped. I doubt Joshua put in the work to get the belts back to simply lose one of the belts by not taking on a mandatory.

Given the fact that all respective belts have pushed their mandatory obligations far into the future, we're now at the point where they can't anymore without losing their respective titles.

Of course all this could be moot and maybe they toss the belts aside to make the biggest fights happen. I doubt that happens though.

In terms of Defense, Movement and Distance... yes you're correct.

    But Offensively... No, definitely not.

Not really. Fury is unorthodox and awkward. He makes it work. He moves straight back like Ali, which is a no-no. But you can make it work with talent. AJ is more fundamentally sound, even if his defense is worse in the end.

Apart from the punching part. Can't throw a jab and can't throw a right hand. Pretty fundamental part of boxing if you ask me.
