If you pulled a Tyson Fury, and walked the streets in America asking people if they knew who Wilder, Fury, Joshua, or Klitschko was. Klitschko would overwhelmingly be the most recognized name. If he came back, it would sell decently.
Even a prime Wladimir would beat Wilder. Wladimir fought fighters that had punching power with extreme cautioun, almost all of those opponents were a lot shorter than he is. Wilder's height and reach is comparable to Wlad's, so he couldn't hold off Wilder with with the extended left arm he'd use to paw with the jab. A right hand missile of a shot would go right over the top of that pawing jab of Wladimir's. Wladimir is by far the better boxer, but his chin is made out of the absolute brittle china. Wilder wouldn't even have to land flush to take him out with a single shot. If there were to fight now, Wladimir would get disqualified and his purse withheld for refusing to engage in combat.
Are we talking about the same Wladimir Klitchko who HBO booted off its broadcast network because only insomniacs turned in to the station for a Wladimir Klitchko waltz so they could be put to sleep???
The Klitschko brothers are household names for just about anyone who had a glancing interest in sports over the past few decades. Whether you are fan of them or not is not the question.
Sorry but you credit Wilder with far too much boxing ability, Klitschko would have beaten him all ends up. His jab was faster, more direct and more accurate than Wilders which most often paves the way for the combinations that follow. If not a combination then a straight right which Wilder has absolutely no hope of surviving because he too has a jelly jaw. Wilder gets outboxed by every single opponent he faces and he’s yet to fight anyone above bum level or face an opponent at their best in 42 fights as a professional.
