Floyd Mayweather Jr and Canelo Alvarez are the two biggest frauds in boxing history, if you take out concrete fists Magarito!
Yeah I just think that AJ would've had better fights without the title. Can you believe that people call him a throwback fighter haha, not after that fight. Same, I can't wait to see the forum go into complete meltdown and then make more post about why he is garbage even after a win lol
Well, it doesnt have to be as long as you don't take a prolonged beating, and you learn from it and move on and improve upon it
Mayweather's style would make him competitive against any of the greats from previous eras... Not saying he goes undefeated, but the idea that guys from the 40s or 50s or 70s and 80s would simply steam roll him because they come from "tougher eras" is ridiculous. Mayweather's mastery of timing is one of the single greatest skills in boxing to have, and one of the few skills that you can retain in older age. Its much different than simply having good reflexes, which diminish rather quickly in older fighters. I've studied many old time fighters and have yet to come across one that uses this skill so effectively. For those that think ray robinson would simply go in there and overwhelm Floyd with his combos, i think Mayweather would time him much like he did to Manny, and you would see Robinson's punch output drop far below his average. Of course, I do think Mayweather would pick up his share of losses fighting all the ATGs of the past, but he would still finish well above .500
@Nopporn I actually don't think it's possible for AJ to fight the winner until late 2021. AJ got 2 mandatory fights for 2020 unless he can only do one. Wilder Fury 2 has a rematch clause no matter who wins, and Whyte will activate his mandatory fight either late 2020 or early 2021. Unless all these guys take step aside money.. it doesn't look good. Lewis and Bowe 2.0
Pulev vs Joshua is a good fight. 1. Pulev is underrated partly because he's been so inactive against top tier opposition in recent years. 2. Either way ... Pulev either needs to get an unexpected win or be relegated out of the belt contention space one way or another, sooner rather than later.
To me Gatti was one of those fighters that SHOULD be in the HOF. He always gave 110% in every fight he was in. Never took a backward step Maybe he wasnt the most talented boxer but he had one hell of a fighting heart. Yes Gatti should get in before those Divas , Cherry pickers, Ped's abusers that have no right being invited
Pulev is about to turn 39. His career is going to over within the next few fights no matter what. I agree Pulev is good -- very good perhaps -- but his ambition is just so abysmal that I can't expect much. He probably just wants to cash out and retire. He has the physical abilities to make it a good fight, but I doubt he has the will to do it. Who knows though. Maybe he'll come alive after all.
AJ's victory over Ruiz was not a big deal. It was just the generic jab-move-clinch -- a game plan already demonstrated to work against Ruiz by Parker, and a skillset AJ already possessed and used when he fought Parker. Parker had the exact same issues with Ruiz: Parker was getting out-boxed by Ruiz, so in the middle the fight, Parker calmly switched to outside boxing and got the W against Ruiz. AJ should've been able to adjust to his style likewise in his very first fight against Ruiz.
