Godoy and Galento, two stylistically similar fighters to Marciano, gave Louis a very rough time. Godoy holding him to an SD and Galento knocking him down and shaking him badly

    Nothing alike!
Galento was almost static, always waiting to counter with his big looping left hook.
Godoy trundled forward in an exaggerated crouch, gloves almost brushing the floor,no big left hook, in fact no big anything. Neither fought like Marciano or indeed each other! ps Neither beat him either!

I think what you're trying to admit is that Marciano is a much much better version of both. Marciano fought out of a crouch and swarmed like Godoy and fought out of a crouch, fought dirty, and had a massive left hook like Galento.

Both gave Louis hell is what I said, and both with their best traits COMBINED would not be as good as Marciano. So yes Marciano posses stylistic issues

Certainly Marciano is a much better fighter than Galento and Godoy, why would that be hard to admit? But their similarities to him are extremely tenuous .Oh and you responded to my asking ,"which pressure fighters apart from Marciano beat Louis?"
    By naming two who didn't!

I'm guessing in your scenario, Louis plays the role of Dempsey and Valuev plays the role of Willard?

Rocky could punch your ankle and knock your teeth out. He once lifted a 800lb dumbbell with the help of his trainers.

He had trouble with Arturo Godoy 1st fight and a few guys like Tami Mauriello and Tony Galento stunned him but he the took them out shortly after, Godoy he beat in the rematch more convincingly..... lets face it other than Schmeling vs a young Louis no style of fighter was good enough to beat Louis in his prime and only a few would be called Elite - Schmeling put pressure on him tactically in the first fight but did not let up with the right hand but Max was not typically that aggressive as he was for Louis

Louis made a statement after losing to Marciano that he always had trouble with guys that crowded him and he said he would have always had trouble with him. It may have been kind words or may have been truthful.

Louis beat the most diverse group of men -sizes-colors-weights-styles - he had trouble with a few but still my #1 over Ali- Louis beats everyone Ali beat IMO but not without danger - Norton - Spinks- Holmes he KO's Frazier and Foreman with caution because of the pressure they could apply - I still favor JL but tougher fights style wise - Frazier maybe more so because of stamina and pressure - Foreman he would have to beat to the punch and use his jab and counters carefully to keep George at bay in the early rounds 1-3 but wait for the opening and go in for the kill

I see Louis as being more of an AWESOME combination puncher, though he had one hell of a right hand.

I knew these 2 brothers from NY not big guys but tremendous punchers and street brawlers - my cousin said they took on like 15 guys in a street brawl , one of the brother was about 5'8 195 lbs of muscle he hit this guy 6'4 on the chin and broke both of the guys ankles - True story - the brothers were legends with their hands - the other brother later became a driver for Paul Castellano and was gunned down in front of sparks steakhouse in NYC with Paul when John Gotti took over - his name was Tommy Bilotti - his brother was Joey

Good post! ps I think Dempsey gets Louis quick, but the longer it goes ,the better Joe's chances . In his autobiography Louis did not give Marciano that much praise, he called him a streetfighter and a brawler that he could outbox.
