He wouldn't be the first and definitely not the last.

1982 was truly Duran's worst year as a pro.

Bingo. Duran simply wasn't as good as his fans claim. Laing should get credit for a clean win, but somehow doesn't.

    It’s basically unwatchable.

Duran waddled to the ring way and was not in decent shape. And Laing rode his bicycle like it was the Tour de France, occasionally pumping the brakes to do a tap-and-run.

Sure, credit to Laing in that he deserved to win, but he wasn’t beating much that night.

Laing's hand and foot speed coupled with Duran seemingly not being 100 percent physically or mentally prepared resulted in s clear points loss for Roberto.

Laing did lose by ko twice to Jones but performed well in both fights. Jones caught him and Lang's chin didn't hold up.

Probably because Duran looked extremely listless against Laing.

Many were calling for his retirement.

Micky Duff said between rounds 'He's a f_ing old man.'

As we know, Duran regained his fire in 1983 and was not, in fact, shot.

I do give Laing credit - he did what he had to do win against s clearly not 100 percent Duran.

Laing was running all night. Roberto had a 45 day training camp consisting of big tittied bitches and bottles of liquor. He was slow and Laing was able to beat him to the punch the times he did decide to fight. Boring fight.

I just watched the first 2 rounds. Not much action. Laing lost both of them by not fighting. That might have been just nerves or a bit of fear. Maybe Adrenaline, I'll watch the rest of it later. I'm sure he opened up and peppered the little fat guy.

One of Duran's finest performances but Laing was just too good.
