Really good boxing match, 1962 Cleveland Big Cat Williams, after his knockout win over Ernie Terrell, vs Donavan Razor Ruddock, before his 1991 defeat at the hands of Iron Mike Tyson. I do see Williams losing on points to Ruddock, for the first 6 rounds, as he is being out boxed. In round 7, during an exchange, Big Cat crashes home a right hand that has Donavan, down for the full 10 count.

I think because Williams was a methodical fighter, stalking an opponent with his gloves held high, looking for an opening, to land the same right hand that broke Liston's nose in 1959. Donavan, aware of Big Cat's power, boxes him, but is exhausted when he taste's the right hand of Cleveland.

It took Liston 3 rounds to KO Williams the first time around but the limited Ruddock is doing it in 1 or 2? OK.

Interesting match up i think Williams would be a little too clever for Razor boxing his way to a close, possibly split decision win

Ruddock was very fast for a heavyweight of his size. He's known to turn it up after getting hurt. The hybrid "Smash" will connect often.

Williams was fast and game. In fact Ruddock was fast and game too. This could be a fun fight to watch! ..,while it lasts.

Although this will be an exciting ding dong I believe Williams is the one who will ultimately succumb to getting more than just his bell rung.

it just isn’t logical to expect Williams to last much longer against Ruddock than he did against Sonny Liston.

A light heavyweight demolished Williams after he had a similar number of fights Mike Tyson had to become champion. He was not inexperienced yet he was seriously concussed. Out for minutes according to some reports.
