Beterbiev has surgery and had promotor issues and was trying to get out of his contract (which he successfully did in the end). As soon as he got the chance he unified very easily. He lost maybe 2 years on his career. Personally I think he was ready for Kovalev in around 2016......

Bivol...I have no idea. I never paid enough attention to that guy.

If he beat a 'legit' champion in Kovalev - which is what Canelo fans were saying he was - then yes he does belong at 175lbs.

Truth is he would have had been forced to fight Bivol or Beterbiev at some point. Both would have hurt him badly.

You don't go and fight for a title in a division, win, and pretend to no be fit for that division. Don't be silly here JM.

so your saying if YOU personally held titles at 60,68, & 75, 160 & 168 don't have an issue with you holding multiple belts but 175 says drop the other 2 YOU personally would drop the 60 & 68 title to hold on to the 1 at 75? how does that even makes sense.

 NO... I'm not saying that wreck of a word salad there.

WTF does one expect when you try to hold belts in three divisions simultaneously?! It's fine that Canelo drops his 175 belt. Or the 168 belt. He shouldn't have been title jumping to the weakest belt holder to begin with. SOME see that as cherry picking. But for some weird reason, it's "Daring to be great" when a cash cow jumps divisions to the weakest belt.

Other guys won't fight? Kov had just fought 2 months prior. Rocky F had three fights in 2018. Neither Kov or RF seem to be having issues getting opponents.

Maybe so, but a w is a w. You have to give him props on clever matchmaking. How can he be a chicken moving up to one of the heaviest weight classes under ,200? Kovalevs plan was effective but just like all the all-time greats, canelo closed the show with his finishing instincts.

What?! What does it matter what 168er are moving to 175?! Or 160ers to 168 for Fielding? That doesn't make any sense.

That's not the logic I was using dumb ass  You don't read English very well do you?

It'a fine to move up if needed. But this title hopping to the easiest title holder with no intention to defend a title is what's wrong.

I think it matters alot considering that canelos last 3 fights heave been at 3 different weights fighting the #3MW on Jacobs who was IBF Champ, a top 5/10 SMW Titlist in Fielding and the #3 LHW in Kovalev who was WBO Champ. It's a laundry list of fighters who would be quality opponents between the 3 divisions yet somehow he's ducking by dropping the 1 title that won't allow him to remain a mutlidivisional champ.

You can't be surprised. Same thing happened after the Cotto fight.

Bro as critical as I am of some of his body of work he still took a big chance and challenge by facing Krusher.
People die in this sport or get life changing injuries so I tip my hat to Big Red
