Bob Williams should be banned. There is no way anyone can give him that by 6 rounds unless they are incompetent or at it. Either way should not be judging such fights until they learn their job properly.

First of all, Phil Edwards is a disgrace. I’m sorry, but he would not take a point off Riakporhe because he was the house fighter and no other reason. That was excessive holding and when Adam Smith is saying ‘surely they’re gonna take a point off him’ you know it’s bad. Massey couldn’t get more than a jab or a hook off before Riakporhe lunged at him. He utterly ruined that fight and Massey won in my eyes.

Just to add, the knockdown just topped it off. He pulled him down, no punch was landed. That goes down as a 10-8 to Riakporhe instead of 10-9 Massey.

I’m sick and tired of this now. It’s so utterly biased. You’ve got Macklin saying ‘it’s 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other’, **** off. It was almost all Riakporhe.

    MATCHROOM FIX AGAIN.

Imagine how bad Okolipus vs Riakpoor will be

Probably be a PPV with a STACKED undercard only 24.95 lol

Eddie will say it's the best card he has ever made top to bottom

How many ‘last warnings’ did Phil Edwards give Riakporhe then, there was a few?!

this is how it goes ''people pay money to watch the show', then people moan when the obvious house fighter wins. then they pay again.

all the while, the tall bloke in a suit continues to count the cash.

Good post Mr T, yeah I agree with everything you've said. I was angry watching it, Riakporhe should have had points taken, I have no idea how Edwards justifies not taking points.

He tried the old.. blame BOTH fighters, threaten BOTH fighters game.

Then he pulled up Riakporhe and gave him a last warning then half way through the next round gave him another final warning. Then proceeded to ignore Riakporhe continuing to hold in the final round.

Edwards needs to be pensioned off, he is clearly incompetent.

Yeah, the knockdown was a really poor call, but Edwards moved so quickly across the ring to call it, he hasn't moved that fast in years, he didn't even give himself time, like a few seconds to process what he thought he saw.

It wasn't a knockdown, so he couldn't have seen one. He just saw a knee touch down and went with that, if you didn't see it clearly you can't call it.. again incompetent refereeing.

As you said, you know it's bad when Adam smith starts saying Riakporhe should have points deducted, I honestly believe Smith was very close to the ring and if you watch it back (don't do that, I struggled getting through it the first time) he said that every time Edwards was on the side of the ring the camera was on, I believe Smith was trying to get Edwards to hear him.

Because Smith knew it looks terrible, it looked unfair, bias and like home cooking again on another Matchroom card.

It won't change though, Matchroom, Sky, Hearn, Adam Smith have a nice little thing going here, suits everybody and makes money so they are not going to make much fuss about it.

And then you get a Bellew saying "Canelo don't want to come here and fight Smith"... Tony my friend, why would (some people's pick as) the number one P4P fighter on the planet, a genuine boxing superstar want to come to the UK when you watch the treatment every foreign fighter gets from referees and judges when they fight a Matchroom fighter.

All this sort of stuff does is deny us big fights, the best fighters wanting to come over here.

That main event was a shables ref and judge wise
I hardly watch football these days due to how disillusioned I've become with it
I sincerely hope i dont end end up feeling this way about boxing

Seems there is a blatent act of bias every week

But its ok as Hearn will compensate fighters like Ryder will another shot at a vacant belt

Thats akin to saying sorry for having you over mate, heres another pay day

Its not just Hearn i should point out
    Its all promotions
Its just Matchroom is number 1,on our TV frequently and its bias is exposed more to our eyes than others

It needs to stop but will take a prominent figure in the game with nothing to lose going very very public with how this game gets on behinds the scenes

I dont see anyone stepping forward right now

    A strange night of Boxing.

Conway v O'Brien was ok for effort but with only 4 KOs between then in around 28 fights, you always knew what was coming. Can't see Conway troubling the current champ, Fitz, should he get another title shot.

Richards v Sugden was decent and honest. I think both have found their level though to be brutally frank. Richards edged it for me without looking totally in control. Buatsi and Yarde are miles ahead.

Riakporhe v Massey could and should have been so much more but due to the antics of one man in the main, it was ruined (2 if you include the Ref). Once Massey stood firm in that 3rd round, Riakporhe seemed to be devoid of ideas unless you count grappling as his #1 idea.
I thought Massey did enough to win and the flash KD was an illegal elbow ffs! Sad to say that this looks to myself like it was always going to be wired up to a Riakporhe (Whyte) v Okalie (AJ) fight.

SKY will love that narrative. *rolls eyes*

Did they show Hearn's new heavyweight Franklin Ignatius debut?

Would be interested to see Riakporhe on a punch bag, just to see if he draped himself around it like a lapdancer around a pole. Okolie was bad enough but he’s taken it to a new level. It’s anti fighting. He’s only interested in throwing one right hand, and otherwise just sets out to ruin the rhythm of his opponent, limiting them to single shots. Horrible to watch. Baffled why Hearn inflicts such eyesores on his viewers.

I thought it was good fight last night, enjoyed it.

Close fight so can't argue with 2 of the judges. Just that other judges score is shocking.

Massey has a solid granite chin, bags of heart and good fundamentals. Although he lost I think he has the better future than Riakporhe, his ceiling is higher I could see him improving.. especially if he moved to a better trainer like a Ingle/Mcguigan/Gallagher.

Totally agree mate. It looked at one point like Edwards was going to take a point of them thought better of it ! After that everytime he lunges in and held Nacklin was saying it's not deliberate it's just they way they are coming together. Total crap. Massey won fight and if the fight contained more less wrestling and more boxing, he would have properly stopped Riakphore. Riakphore was struggling with body shots and the constant holding like he was in a scrum made it near on impossible for Massey to keep landing the body shots.

No way could they try to sell Riakporhe v Okolie ! That's the worst match made in the entire history of Boxing. The first ever 0-0 fight. Sorry, forgot about Johnny Nelson v Carlos DeLeon.
