A clown in the mode of your boy Mayweather Jr. who missed weight vs Juan Manuel Marquez.

Who's to say Chavez at the 172 lbs he came in isn't 100%???

I'm guessing Chavez found out a day or two ago he wasn't going to be able to make the 168 lbs weight limit safely and its why he notified all concerned on the matter to negotiate and fork over more money to Jacobs for the disparity.

It cost Chavez Jr. heavily to make 164 lbs for the Canelo fight, at that weighin he looked completely gaunt.

I'm not saying he's going to beat Jacobs, but he certainly has a better chance at the weight he came in at than he did at 164 lbs vs Canelo.
I'll say this much, Chavez is likely in the best shape he's ever been for this fight.

Why allow it? Why is Chavez always allowed to bend the rules. That is significant weight.

Ultimately, its Team Jacobs decision whether to withdraw, or accept the penalty from Chavez's purse and have the fight.

Well it's a non-title fight so there's no issue from that standpoint. But you are right, that is significant weight, it's not like Jr just missed 168 or something, he's way over.

Seriously, why are people surprised by this? His weight has always been an issue and I had a feeling he would mess up again. I'm more shocked that the boxing organization are still giving Chavez Jr chances for big fights. The guy is nothing more than a spoiled son of a boxing legend. Disgraceful.

I am not sure if Chavez is the best shape of his career, but I doubt him missing the weight had anything to do with his preperation for the fight.
He is what, 33 now? With his build it´s no wonder that he can´t make 168 now. Especially with all of the time off he has had.
He had a hard time making 168 after the Martinez loss. So it´s no wonder he is struggling even harder now.

He hasn´t made 168 in over 2 years and likely realized that it wasn´t going to happen.

He would have known from when the fight was announced he wasn’t going to make it.

Because for this fight he already looked inshape even before training camp started. Chavez Jr. has also been doing strenghth training which he didn't employ in training for Fonfara.
Jr. cant fight in the same style he did at above 168 lbs that he did fighting middleweights, those fighters are stronger and Jr. cant bully them around like he did smaller fighters at 160 lbs.
Which is why I say Jr. is in the best shape he's ever been, he's incorporated a real strenghth training regimen into his training camp to deal with fighting physically stronger fighters at 168 lbs and above.
With the added muscle, it makes it much harder for him to lose the weight and get down to 168 lbs.
If you look at his body, there is less body fat on him than there was when he fought at 160 lbs.
Canelo was able to back Chavez down because Chavez felt weak from having to make 164 lbs, I'll be very surprised if Jacobs is able to body up and back Jr. up this evening.

Not accurate at all. Chavez allready looked in shape when he went into Freddie Roach's gym and asked Freddie if he would train him.
There's video out on youtube from several months back of Chavez training with Roach looking lean, certainly not at over 200 lbs as you suggest.
