Also Wilder isnt from the projects, he's from the backwoods. But he is the Peoples Champion and many children of color across the USA and the across the world look up to him, and that is a huge mental advantage to bring into a fight.

It's the only thing he's been doing constantly over the past 40 fights, go for the right hand. And with his hight and the right training and nutrition, he managed to get the most devastating right hand in the division, ever, I guess. I really am no fan of that, but after his last 3 fights I came to a point where I just accept him as HW champion. Will never be a GOAT as a boxer who practices that sport for me, but as a puncher for sure.

Wilder's ability to hit with power is amazing but I'm pretty sure his fans have little to do with it.

 

No, but he knows he is representing his people and that they are looking up to him to do great things and that is a huge advantage ....
If you don't believe me than why do we make such a big deal every time a Mexican fighter packs the house with his people, or Manny Pacquiao with the Filipinos for that matter?

Power is his natural skill, without that power he wouldn't be where he is right now.

Most fighters are thinking defense the moment they let their hands go. They are ready to pull back. Wilder punches through the target and doesn't hold back. His punches are throw from long range, which generates a lot of power and because of his handspeed, it's fast enough to cover that distance and land at the target.

Wilder's style is about hurting people and his whole offense is set up to throw power shots. Combine that with his handspeed and you have a mean ass power puncher.
