I don't think so, put him against the likes of Wallin, Schwarz, Washington, Kownacki or if being ambitious Joyce or Ortiz (all of which I would favour him against but will be the step up).
2020 has to see DDD fight either a Chisora/Joyce/Pulev level to see where he’s at or he will end up like a typical Warren hype job like Yarde who steps up and gets found out. He’s got the tools but can see his path being the problem.
Apart from Wilder, Fury and Usyk, the division is not very good. He is ready now at 22 years of age and really should be taking a belt this time next year with his power and talent along with the fact Tony Dosh PPV is ripe for a KO. The career progression annoys me in terms of opponents - Gorman should have been followed with increasingly difficult opponents to test him and develop.
This content is protected Warren is more interested in putting Dubois against Dave Allen than he is Bakole. Hearn offered the fight a while ago. Hearn has offered to make the fight and even for Bakole to fight on BT. It would be be a great fight in which I would favour DDD slightly but its too big of a risk and low reward for Warren to make.
If DDD can't beat Bakole then he's not good enough, forget the risk, if you're going to step up you've got to take the risk, Joshua did at this stage fighting Whyte. DDD beats both Bakole and Allen for me, lets see him go up the levels now.
Prior to the Hunter loss, Bakole was hyped up to be a better prospect than DDD, Ajagba and Joyce by a lot on this forum (not me). Bakole has been impressive since his loss and has a more impressive win on his resume than DDD has yet.
I cant see it mate. Hes a great prospect and hes gonna be a very good fighter. But hes being made to look better than he is by fighting absolute puddings atm. Its a bit like that time huey fury iced sam sexton. Put him up a couple of levels and his power barely registers. Dubois has power but he wont be bowling the top guys over with just sheer power. Take his power away hes pretty one dimensional. Pretty sure he ran out of ideas against thompson. To be expected at 22 and not all that much experience. But the top ten guys will have too much for him atm. Look at david price looked like ali battering dave allen. Then turned into audley harrison against chisora. These guys at the top outside fury, wilder, joshua, usyk....dont look all tht good....but they know what their doing. Otherwise frank would have had dubois in with one of them by now. He,ll be currently looking for a named opponent that will be an absolute shell of himself next i bet. If he was that good frank would be trying to make a real big fight with him. He doesnt have that many big sellers afterall.
The IBF and WBO Croydon belts on display there, well done to him grabbing the Lonsdale belt though This content is protected
There’s no need for Dubois to be having these pointless fights. People saying he’s only 22 are just using his age as mitigation for Frank’s propensity for mismatches. Boxrec rankings may not be perfect but this guy was well behind Oliver McCall. I’ve said before but Dubois Gorman was a bit like Groves Degale. When Groves went into that fight he was 23 and 12-0. Dubois is now 22 and 14-0. Groves immediately went into a British title fight against Paul Smith, was fighting Glen Johnson soon after that, and in truth it wasn’t that long at all before he was at world level. People are saying Dubois already is. Surely a step up has to happen soon.
The guy wasn’t in that bad shape but it was a complete mismatch both size and ability wise. Don’t know how he weighed 16.5 stone though? Must have powerlifter’s legs and an elephant leg for a ****.
Joshua was beat by a little Fat bum in June and ran away for 12 rounds from same little fat bum in Saudi - DDD destroys him right now by brutal KO
