Parker is the highest rank in the WBO after Fury (who won't fight Usyk). Seems Usyk vs Parker the most liekly to happen. Then AJ vs Usyk at the end of the year.

He was number 2, seems he has been removed since WBC took the mandatory off Whyte and made Fury mandatory.

    WBC Rankings looking s-s-stacked!!

    https://fightnews.com/rankings-2

Hell of a line up, all these big bad scary contenders have been piling up on Wilder who is closed for (real) business

Agree with most, suspect we get AJ-Pulev and Usyk-Parker. Winners of those two probably face each other, which I suppose means Wilder-Fury 3 will happen in the interim

Wonder if Joshua will stay extra light from now on. Would be quite a accomplishment if he out boxed Pulev on points.

Yeah it’s supposedly already signed (the rematch and the trilogy). So even with mandatories and vacating/stripping coming it looks like a good year for the heavyweight division. Wilder v Fury x2, Joshua v Pulev, Usyk v Parker, Joshua v Usyk. Don’t know where that leaves Whyte though? Chasing Bryan for an interim paper title?

Why is it rigged? It was known all along Usyk was gonna be mandatory as he Cruiserweight super champion. Should they put one of Warren’s heavyweights or Arum’s at number 2 just to keep them happy? That would be more rigged surely?

Most likely. They might squeeze him in after Pulev as a voluntary for one of the belts maybe. Or even a defence for Usyk-Parker winner, pending how quickly that fight gets made

But that’s a general point of boxing and not just specific to Matchroom, they’re all doing the same thing. Canelo can pretty much what he wants when it comes to the sanctioning bodies and other fighters are in a similar bracket with certain organisations.

It’s boxing, always has and always will be the same.

It is a general point in boxing. I don’t think match room are anywhere near as bad as some of the others. The worst sanctioning body by a million miles is the WBO. Fighters just appear in their top 2/3 out of nowhere, never mind their top 15. Then they’re suddenly mandatory or fighting for a vacant title and then just never seen ever again. The WBA with their regular/interim/super/gold titles can do one too, I won’t even discuss their ranking system, Joe Fournier is probably still in their top 10. The WBC are just puppets for the American promoters so that leaves me with the IBF being the most credible.

Will Uysk really want to be a title holder by beating a guy who lost to AJ and Whyte? He would be a paper champion and it would probably diminish any future fight against Joshua.

I think Uysk will step aside for now if he gets a guarantee of Joshua down the line.
