How would a young Earnie Shavers or Larry Holmes do against the top heavyweight boxers in 2019?

I don`t know if this belongs in classic.
Holmes at 6′3 would have been a lot shorter than AJ, Fury and Wilder, but he had a similar reach to these super heavyweights which would have been a huge factor. Shavers had a good reach also, but didn`t have the jab or footwork to exploit that reach enough.
How high would these two rank today in their primes, and would Holmes be top of the pile?

I would pick both to beat the brakes off of any active heavyweight. I'd give Wilder a punchers chance which is what he has going into every fight

Isn`t that all Shavers would have against any top 10 heavy? Wilder is far more accurate with his punches than Shavers was.

I think that Larry Holmes has the class to make things happen and perhaps find a way, against just about anyone.

Ernie Shavers is in another league altogether. I think he is far too plodding and would lose against any one of Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua.

Shavers would try and trade with the blob Ruiz, and be viciously crushed by that enormous belly.
Larry would probably do a Joshua, but actually throw some punches while he moves from side to side.

Larry beats everyone, Usyk and Fury being his toughest challenges. Shavers could KO any of them. In reailty I wouldn't pick him to beatf many, maybe Pov, Ortiz and Pulev? At most.

Shavers has a pucnhers chance with anyone. A threat but should get decisively beaten by the top guys.

Holmes would be dominant today, with some stiff challenges from Fury and possibly Usyk (who is an unknown quantity at the moment).

Earnie Shavers loses to everyone in the top 6 (Fury, Wilder, Joshua, Whyte, Ortiz, Usyk), and could potentially lose to everyone in the top 10. Of course he has a punchers chance

Holmes would have every belt IMO.

I hate to admit it, but I can't see Larry beating fury

He Beats AJ in a competitive fight

He gets up off the canvas, twice, to stop Wilder late

He stops Whyte late in a decently competitive fight

Doesn't lose a round against Ruiz

He's given a little bit of trouble from Parker

Usyk gives him hell but Larry barely manages to win a decision

He beats Ortiz in a highly competitive fight

Shaver loses a WIDE decision against Fury

He is stopped by Joshua in about 5 or 6 rounds

He is stopped by Wilder Early

He stops Whyte while down on points

    He's stopped late by Ruiz

He drops Parker but still loses a decision

    He is dominated by Usyk

He is stopped late by Ortiz

Holmes would do well, but not 20 defense successful.

Shavers wouldn’t go too far. He’d be fringey.

AJ actually studied Holmes`s fights in prep for his rematch v Ruiz.

Holmes didn`t pitch shut outs in all his fights and lost rounds to fighters with slower hands than Ruiz has.

Ruiz has fast hands but slow feet. Larry has fast hands and fast feet. He would just move and jab his way to a decision

EverythinSg outside the top 3 is garbage today. Shavers was able to give prime holmes the fight of his life. I don't feel like any active heavyweight would be able to do the same. Shavers would eat guys like Ruiz and Dillion Whyte for breakfast
