Did I say it was or are you waffling, David Haye cracked his chin in 2013. Absolutely prime dillian whyte taking 6 extra rounds to stop chisora 6 years on is nothing to brag about mushy. Happy holidays
Why doesn't he want Ortiz? I think he'd beat Wallin,( who doesn't)? but Ruiz under 280 beats him and Povetkin is on social security so if Whyte shows up under 250 lbs he'll win that
I honestly think Whyte has taken massive steps backward. I can't see him beating anyone of note. Ortiz, Povetkin, Parker, usyk, Fury, AJ and Wilder all stop him
I think in the poster was implying that if Whyte was/is as good as advertised he shouldn’t need two shots at beating Chisora.
No he was not implying that. He was implying that Whytes KO over Chisora was nothing special, its been done before... When actually it has never been done before and I doubt it ever again will actually.
I think that's a bit premature to say after one bad fight coming off a drug's bust. Whyte's a very inconsistent performer, and was clearly nowhere near his best in the Wach fight where he turned up grossly out of shape, but it was only in the past year that he was one shot KOing Chisora and knocking down Joseph Parker. Let's see how he performs in his next fight, which will hopefully be against a better quality of opponent and see Whyte taking things more seriously. If he can sort out his training and get on a more professional PED regime that doesn't see him getting busted for ancient steroids like dbol then I think we can expect some pretty entertaining matchups win or lose in the near future. Wilder will continue to duck him of course, but fights with the likes of Povetkin and Hunter and rematches with Joshua and Parker would all be worth watching. I'd also like to see him fight Usyk, just to see if he can make things difficult for Usyk before his inevitable UD loss.
I'm not sure why or if Whyte doesn't want Ortiz, but then Ortiz has never been that proactive in going after tough fights himself, so I suspect it's a case of needing two to Tango there. Ortiz is at that point where he's going to be fed to upcoming guys like Joyce so I don't think that's a particularly good fight to go after anyway. Ruiz really isn't all that good if you have a jab and a reach advantage over him. Parker, who's not a great outside boxer, showed us the initial blueprint, and Joshua showed us in the rematch how it should be done. Whyte lacks the speed of Parker or the overall quality of Joshua but he's good enough to get the job done if he takes things seriously. Povetkin would actually be the closest contest of the opponents you've mentioned. Old or not he brings a huge depth of experience and a ton of heart, even at this stage. Hunter made him look bad, but then Hunter does that to anyone not named Oleksandr Usyk, and I wouldn't necessarily favour the younger man in that matchup.
Maximum Violence was exactly what I was thinking when blonde viking Wach was administering hurt on Whyte left and right. "Whyte tells Wach to bring it...I'm not sure he wants that."
There was a point late in the fight where Wach unleashed this explosive quick combo on Whyte that made me think why the hell doesn't he fight like that all the time? It's weird when fighters you think you know surprise you like that.
