Canelo clearly has the better skills, has fought higher caliber opposition, and is more versatile. Canelo> Usyk
I wouldn't say his skills are better, but he does have the better resume by a mile then anyone active today besides Pacquiao. He's clearly #1 seeing how Loma & Crawford wont fight elite competition. Now if Usyk goes on to become undisputed HW champion, he would overtake Canelo for me. For me Canelo #1 Inoue #2 Usyk #3 Lomachenko #4 Crawford #5
He’s Eastern European...Euros generally derive an unhealthy amount of self worth from meaningless things ie sports.
Usyk did brutally ko Witherspoon. Would Canelo be able to handle such a skillful, prime, hungry contender such as him?
Failed drug test and favorable judging is why people don't want to rank Canelo as high as Usyk. Usyk also took belts in the opponents home country, unified a division and looked very good doing it. I rank Usyk higher myself. But have no complaints or criticisms for those that place Canelo above Usyk.
Those are horrible reasons to put someone ahead of somebody else P4P. Failed drug tests / favorable judging has literally nothing to do with ranking fighters P4P. And besides what Canelo tested positive for, trace amounts of clenbuterol, is no longer a violation according to WADA / VADA as there now is a set threshold for it being a violation.
What I'm saying is th he truth! People discount Canelo for the reasons I mentioned. Not saying I do. I think what Usyk has done ranks higher than what Canelo has done.
But no one else does? dumbest post of the year candidate. i think you wrapped it up just under the wire.
Canelo is an overachieving mediocrity that being backed up by a cartel. Robberies, steroids, cherry picking ... he should be kicked out from p4p ratings.
Shadow crying about people not liking Canelo as much as he does again. Having to tilt the board in your favour is not the hallmark of a fighter who 'all things being equal would come out on top' which is how p4p works.
Bro it has nothing to do with liking somebody. P4P is about skills. Canelo is clearly a more versatile fighters than Usyk. He has better skills, is a more dynamic puncher. (Usyk is a hard puncher but he's more basic) Canelo uses high level upper body movement, Usyk doesn't. Canelo can fight in a variety of styles, see GGG 1 and 2. He can fight off the backfoot, he can come at your Mexican Style. He doesn't just plod forward throwing straight punches, he throws a variety of shots from a variety of angles. It's cringeworthy to hear you and others try to dumb this down into a fanboy competition. Canelo is a far more skilled fighter P4P and he's ranked higher than Usyk in legitimate P4P rankings. Yet me pointing out the obvious that Canelo is better P4P than Usyk turns into dumbed down likeability arguments. If you want to have a serious discussion about who is better P4P that's what this is about. If you want to act like some school girl and make it about who you like better that's not what this is supposed to be about.
Canelo has done more but P4P isn't about what you have done. It's about how good of a fighter you are now, you're skills, etc.
He's not. He cleaned out a stepping stone division. He should have a bunch of heavyweight fights under his belt by now but he stayed away from the real big boys and kept fighting a bunch of guys who can't make it at heavyweight so they gave them their own special division to compete against each other in
