How great was Nasty Nate Campbell?

    He was completely weight drained and ill in the fights he lost to Robbie Peden....
    At the correct weight he dismantled highly touted prospect Kid Diamond, and derailed the career of rising star Juan Diaz
    By the time he lost to Tim Bradley .One of the ATGs at 140, he was well past his best days.
    I think at 135-140 he gives anyone a run for their money.....
    Of course I wouldn't pick him over Pac or Marquez, but he would keep them honest for sure and keep those fights interesting and it wouldnt be no walk in the park for either

    Not great but for a brief moment had a solid run capped off with Diaz

    Weight drained or not he put his hands down and was KOd in a great highlight of boxing stupidity

    Also lost his title on the scales

    One of the best I've ever seen that picked it up so late, probably even the best. He lost to Peden more because of getting cocky and showboating rather than being weight drained IMO. If he took Peden more seriously he would have pantsed him on the cards. Extremely gifted and talented and took to boxing like a true savant. Fun to watch. Good guy outside the ring.

    What’s most notable about him is probably that he started boxing way late but still had success. He fought Casamayor in 2003 after turning pro in 2000, and I don’t think he even fought as an am.

    Nate worked as a sacker at Winn Dixie when he got into boxing. He was a regular poster on the old now defunct Prodigy boxing board. he was a good guy too. Dropping his hands like he did cost him big time

    How does that work exactly? Not saying that Campbell was at his best then, but he had just beaten Diaz a little over a year prior.
