I suspect that more people saw a clear Lewis win than not, since I really don't recall any genuine signs of controversy over the result, at the time. Yes, there are dissenting scores, quite often, with the system of scoring in use. Thus, "subjectivity" will always will be a factor across a broad viewing audience.

However, there are limits to the license of subjectivity, in terms of how far one can reasonably stretch results in favor of one or other boxer.

    Goes without saying.

Well no, I remember a lot of divergent scores in the press media. There was not a huge controversy because of the first fight.

This debate has nowhere else to go. So, I'll end by reiterating my answer to the question raised by the OP...

...Was Holyfield robbed in his rematch with Lennox Lewis?

    Answer: No.

And this, regardless of whether one thinks the fight was close or not.

In a word no, Holyfield was not robbed, i had Holyfield winning rounds 6, 7, 9 & 12 with two even.
Lewis edged the win by two points in my opinion & fought a little more consistently than Holyfield throughout.

I think the judges made it look like Holfield was robbed.
In the first fight (draw) Lewis was obviously robbed.
In the second fight, Holyfield showed more than in the first fight, but Lewis was still a shade better.

Was Holyfield robbed in the rematch? That was a strange one, in a word no, it was more competitive than their first fight & Holyfield had some good moments but the more consistent work was from Lewis.
I gave Holyfield rounds 6, 7, 9 & 12, he fought better but didn't win the fight, in my opinion.

Absolutely not the fight was close after 7 rounds, but Lewis took over from that point on and pretty much won every round after that.

Agreed. Lewis very clearly won the first fight whereas the second was close enough that it should've been scored a draw, not a win for Lewis. Overall though it still worked out to Lewis getting a win and a draw as he deserved.
