    Hmm if people consider Cleveland Williams a power puncher wouldn’t they have to consider Marciano one as well (although all common sense says Marciano was a better puncher)

    Nope because Sonny was knocked by light hitters!
    He was knocked by Ali,Marshall,Martin!
    His was knocked by Mac Foster in sparing!
    Marciano hit harder than them together!
    One overhand right Suzie Q in late rounds and Sonny is knocked cold!

    It would definitely be competitive. 4/5, Liston wins. But Marciano is competitive vs anyone.

    Mac Foster wasn't a light hitter, he was lacking a great many things in his boxing, but power was not one of them.

    Also this thread is supposed to be dead, please don't encourage another flame war

    Liston fans want to convince themselfs that Marciano couldn't beat Liston!And they pull Williams like Tyson fans pull Ruddock when you ask about Foreman vs Tyson!
    Keene Simmons fought both!
    Prime Simmons was knocked by Marciano!
    Past prime Simmons lost to Williams by UD!
    Simmons said that Marciano was way harder puncher and that their punches are not even comparable!
    Bob Satterfield who was Rocky sparing partner and knocked Williams easier than Liston stated the same damn thing!
    Ezzard Charles said that he wasn't impresed with Liston power when they spared in mid-late 50s!
    Past prime Charles made Liston looks funny and toyed with Liston!
    He only said he's big and strong but I'm not impresed with his power because he isn't great puncher for his size!
    Charles said that Rocky hit him harder than anyone!
