Is "Left Hook" the worst nickname ever among mainstream fighters?

I mean...That's pretty much all Lacy had. It was quite alliterative and rolled off the tongue nicely. I've seen far worse.

I agree, boxing is full of ridiculous nicknames and that one is one of the worst.

 

Dr. Steelhammer and Ironfist are pretty lame as far as nicknames go. I think AJ, the Bronze Bomber and 2 Fast are shitty monikers too though. In fact the heavyweight division is pretty much trash at the minute for good nicknames.

Is the Bounty Hunter the best of them ATM? Prob.

I think Calzaghe liked a Jeff Left Hook Lacey's nickname since he didn't landed any left hooks on Joe,.,,and Joe landed over 200 punches

 

Wlad did a lot of strange things. Wearing lifts in his shoes. The big shoulder pads. The 'magic hand' business with Haye. I think a lot of his weird behaviour is put down to a language barrier when he's just a bit odd.

Any fighter with the first name Joe should automatically have the nickname "Smokin'" associated with it, regardless of whether they smoke or not.
