Roman Gonzalez Manny Pacquiao Vasily Lomachenko Those were the three i enjoyed watching the most they also had skills to spare and great resumes any of them would be an excellent pick imo.
None of the three in the poll should be fighter of the decade I'd say Lomachenko or Pacquiao would be a better choice.
From the article I read Manny finished fourth in voting the loss to Mayweather along with 4 offical losses in the decade are why he just missed the cut. Others recieving votes including Klitchsko, Joshua, Lomachenko, Gonzalaz, Golovkin, and one other I can't remember the name. Lol this isn't my list or my picks this was from an article about the boxing writer award stating their finalist they will announce winner on Jan 7th. My personal top 3 was Canelo, Gonzalaz, and a close 3rd in pacman or ward
Pbf was also old 36 past his best in his 5th weight class when he beat canelo. Canelo was the champ at 154 had over 40 fights and was ranked in the top 10 p4p it was a great win arguably the best win of the decade.
Loma i get but how in the hell can you rationalize pac when he has 4 loses? The other 3 are far more deserving they all had a better decade than he did. Those are facts.
Gotta go with Loma here. Fastest to 3 world titiles, dominating as champion. Never seen a fighter make 4 straight opponents quit. Remarkable really.
Canelo seems like the clear answer for me, and I'm definitely not what you would consider a Canelo fan. Mayweather and Pac were both obviously better fighters but neither guys were active for the whole decade, which hurts their standing. By contrast, Canelo basically 'arrived' at the beginning of the decade and he won multiple titles in multiple weight classes with only one loss, capping the decade with a giant win over Kovalev. Uysk might be the fighter of the next decade, but not the last decade. Chocolotito Gonezalez would be at the center of this discussion if he hadn't eaten those two losses. Andre Ward would probably be a top contender too if he had kept fighting and winning. Crawford is the biggest 'what if' for me. If he'd gotten fights with Mikey Garcia, Spence, Pac, and Thurman I think he would beat all of them, and he would have been the fighter of the decade.
Estrada, Viloria, Yaegashi, Cuadras and the first Sor Rungvisai fight he had a case of winning that decision. I dont mind him being mentioned at all. He has 24 victories this decade and thats quite a feat IMO
Canelo will probably win it but IMO floyd has a stronger case. Quality over quantity. Floyd beat Mosley after he just wrecked Margo. Beat Canelo himself. Beat Pac who was then p4p 2. Beat a better version of cotto than Canelo did.
GGG didn't really do much to earn fighter of the decade also he lost to Canelo, but if you read on as I said this isn't my list, these are the three finalist for the BWAA award. Y'all seriously need to get over that loss ya boy got beat and in the rematch he got beatdown he needs to stop fighting unranked fighters and start making real fights. Pacquiao finished 4th
